Although that thread is about driveclub, this thread is posting news that just came out yesterday. 

The unfortunate thing for the creators of Driveclub is that they already missed their launch window a year ago. Now they have made a mistake such as this which delays a sequel even more. I am pretty sure they wanted to be the racing game that could coexist with Gran Tursismo.

The downside is that it seems like the sequel may launch when Gran Turismo 7 is going to launch, which could spell utter disaster.

Regular online races have been working for a while, although you can still get matchmaking or cannot connect to all players errors. Getting 100% career mode will take you a while anyway. It's mainly the leader boards, face-offs and ghosts that have trouble loading all the time. And challenges are still disabled.

There was a patch tonight. It seemed to be working better for a while yet now it looks like the servers have been taken off-line. Atm all online functionality is greyed out. Slow progress.

I honestly don't care about this game anymore. I was interested in getting the PS+ version and if I liked that, I'd probably get the full game.

What a mess.What I wonder is whether or not Evolution can come back from all this...will the studio even exist a year from now?

With digital DC sale are easily past 500k sales, EV being a small team.  Costs are ulikely massive.  Finencially i doubt its really justifiable given their decent track record till this screw up.  

Hilariously its xbos fans that are crying the most about this game whining about refunds and shit, many DC users on many formus are actually enjoying it despite the online not working.

Its either people are enjoying DC enough to some what forgive the online issues or racers generally dont overly care about online so its a small issue to them.  Id say its both, as racing is not a online heavy genre.
