Well looks like it a programming problem more than a server issue:

I think this was known.

bad programming, bad stress testing.

What stress testing? There was no public test, they couldn't have known. Not doing a test is irresponsible in its own right however.

there was a closed beta though, a closed beta for a heavy online game.... yep.

Somebody needs to get fired. o_o

The developers of DriveClub should have known that their vision couldn't be realized on Sony's underdeveloped network. Hopefully they learn from this and pick the right console next time.

Ignore this post.

Why should I ignore it?

Yeah, this is very poor on Evolution's part. Firstly they should've done proper testing and secondly they should've fixed it by now if its an error in the programming. Thankfully most of the game still works and its still a pretty decent game

There should be an official apology and compensation for the people who bought it, maybe even refunds. It became ridiulous at this point.

Im sorry but this was promised to be available around launch period, basically as an apology for making PS+ mandatory for online. If microsoft did this they would be crucified and accused of forcing people to buy the game, of which the digital copy is available to buy.

Hopefully they do the right thing and offer some form of compensation for those affected by the poor launch and lack of PS+ version.

Nobody forced anybody to buy this game. I know I wouldn't have a "fuck it" moment and buy a game out of frustration because a free version didn't come out. That's silly. If I only cared about a game enough that I only wanted the free version, then clearly I had no monetary interest in the game beforehand, and therefore aren't "forced" to buy it. Sure, you could upgrade from the PS+ edition if you liked it.....but that's still $50. Almost the same as the retail version.

That said, since this comes down to a coding issue that prevents the game from connecting to servers, then Sony and Evolution Studios should have a bounty on their heads. Why not delay the game further? Why release the game when a beta was released that should have made these errors very apparent. It's absolute bullshit to release a game that at it's core doesn't function properly. Granted, Bethesda released a shitty coded PS3 Skyrim that had an extreme studdering framerate and froze completely all the time, making the game downright unplayable, period, and refunds and compensation wasn't demanded from them. But two wrongs don't make a right, so I guess that's irrelevant. Anyway, at this point, they should, say, give a 50% refund for those who bought the game, slash it to $30, new, and make it WELL KNOWN that the game has issues. Issues that affect the majority of the experience DC is meant to have. And that they're being worked on, but in the meantime, take the game discounted. No way should they charge full price for a game that shouldn't have even been released

It sucks that this game hasn't been working right, but it seems that almost every online game has some type of problem. It just turns out this one seems to have a fatal error. I agree, this should be pulled from the shelves in both retail and digital until it is fully repaired...

It is near the end of the end....

Pray for Evolution Studios.

It had a solid opening and legs might be good... when the game works.

I expect a Driveclub sequel between GT7 and 8. However, they gotta deliver a better game next time or it will be the end for them.

That's not true.

Well, seeing as how "it seems" is subjective in and of itself, what is your point?

It would be shorter for you to name a game that heavily depends on online that has not had troubles at launch.
