last offical sales figure was 2.1m (sold in to retailers + digital) from sony in january and was repeated in theire march quarter results.

So 3M people were playing. Does this mean it's sold at least 3M copies?

By the wording I would assume this also contains used copies, so I would say no. Still seems like it's selling well.

Burned myself out a bit on it after platinuming it, but think I'll try to get back into the multiplayer, probably average skill is way higher now than when I was beasting around launch...

Not really, Used games and consoles where maybe 2 accounts have played on the same copy are included in these numbers. But it's very likely on the high end of 2 million sold to consumers.

No, it's jused 3million different PSN account have at least played the game once. That includes physical sales, digital sales, second hand sales, loanes etc.

So even if 10% was from used, isn't the difference between these numbers and what we have here still too big?

Why would that be a joke?
