Forums - Sales Discussion - Whats Happening to Call of Duty?

It has been well documented that Call of Duty sales have been on a downward slop for some time.

But this latest downward curve is especially extreme.

According to VGChartz Pre Orders, the comparison of current orders of Ghosts to Advance Warfare 3 weeks before launch is as follows:

Xbox 360: Ghosts - 673,015   AW - 185,204   (-72%)

PS3:  Ghosts - 326,733   AW - 83,186 (-75%)

Xbox One: Ghosts - 375,295   AW - 251,881 (-33%)

PS4: - 360, 318 - 192,251 (-47%)

Total: Ghosts - 1,567,294    AW - 712,522  (-54%)

What is going on?  Was Ghosts that poorly recieved?  Are people waiting for reviews?  Has the series been milled to the point where people just don't care.

VGChartz pre-order threads should be banned from this forum.

VGChartz preorder tracking is stupendously inaccurate, don't take it as gospel.
Advanced Warfare is likely highly undertracked.

I think a lot of people are waiting on reviews, that's the case with a lot of people i know at least. Nobody wants to jump in after how bad Ghosts was.

Does anyone know how VGChartz tracks preorders?

Call of Duty got Guitar Hero'd.

We can only hope...

It's likely doing very well ... (Oh, and uh don't take the pre order charts seriously here.)

Like it or not, Call of Duty has competition, and a whole lot of them.

It's competing with Destiny, and Halo:MCC which is going to take away quite a lot of XBOne sales. And a bunch of other stuff I'm probably glossing over.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

:3

What's happening to Call of Duty? People are getting sick of buying the same thing every year for $60.
