Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Koei Tecmo: "Hyrule Warriors meets sales expectations in Japan, above expectations overseas"

do you think we will get a sequel to Hyrule Warriors?

hell yeah round 2 baby 119 70.83%

no more kicking the ass of brainless enemies 49 29.17%

Total:168

it's also above what I was expecting in case you guys wondered

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

all ok then? but.. wasn't Koei Tecmo who expected a million units sold for the game? something is wrong here

No, they said they would like it to sell 1 mil worldwide. They never gave out their actual expected to sell only what they would like to see.

ok then-. Anyway Hyrule warriors is one of the fastest selling WiiU games so it can reach the million mark with time

Wasn't this game supposed to be a flop?

Regardless, "We'd like it to sell X but even if it falls short we are already satisfied with its sales" is a refreshing attitude for a publisher.

That's what certain people say about every Wii U game. Not everything has to sell multiple millions to be a success.

Their overseas expectations must have been very low.

And rightfully so. DW8 sold poorly despite beeing a really good game (not recognised by the majority of the western press ofc).

Those people obviously have an agenda, which is sad. Anyway, I think Namco is very happy seeing HW doing well as it indicates that Pokken will beat expectations too.
