Forums - Gaming Discussion - Kotaku: Three Weeks Later, DriveClub Still Doesn't Work Properly

On October 7, Sony released the racing game Driveclub for PlayStation 4. Today, October 28, the game still doesn't work as intended—and Sony still hasn't said a word about refunding the folks who paid $60 for it.

Driveclub's server problems have been well-documented. For the past three weeks, players have found themselves unable to access many of the racing game's features; though Driveclub does have an offline mode, its biggest selling points involve connecting with and racing against other players, fighting for ranks as you try to climb the game's various social leaderboards. Multiplayer is even in the name—Driveclub refers to the clubs you can form to play with other people.

So for 21 days now, the game has been essentially crippled.

Though Sony has been issuing regular updates to try to fix Driveclub's server issues, they're still not out of the woods yet. (Representatives for Sony did not respond when I asked them about potential refunds.)

Just this morning, I asked Fahey to log into the game and see what was up. Here's the message he got:

Three weeks! We'll keep you updated as the Driveclub Disaster Watch continues.

I doubt they'll give refunds.

I can't believe the issues have persisted for this long! I can expect server issues for a few days after launch, but 3 weeks is insane. How could they have screwed up so badly?

Guess I'm not getting my PS+ version anytime soon. Sony/Evolution really should offer compensation for this, like making the next DLC pack or 2 free.

I've heard many people got refunded in PSN credit when they contacted Sony support. Even for digital copies.

Man, Driveclub launch has been a nightmare for many folks.
I hope they learned their lesson and not let something like this happened again.

Praise the One.

Greatness awaits.

Fantastic, this is why I'm so thrilled about everything turning online since the 7th gen started.

Online connection is still shakey, I lose connection quite a lot. Still no challenges and its extremely tricky to join online games. Such a disasterous launch. Nonetheless a good game

I was generous with my prediction.

Yay for single player and local coop games I guess.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Doesn't surprise me. This game is a disaster. Hopefully they can turn it around. If not, there are many other great exclusives to play........sort of.
