Both these consoles are generally looked as part of Nintendo's decline, despite that they were both unarguably brought joy to some. So which brought you more joy? Here's a small list of eachs 1st party titles and their counter part, won't go into 3rd party games.

Mario game, Mario 64 vs Mario Sunshine

Star Fox, Star Fox 64 vs Star Fox adventures and Assault 

Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 vs Pokemon Coliseum and Gale of Darkness.

Zelda, Ocarina of time and Majora's Mask vs Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.

Mario Kart 64 vs Double dash

F-zero, X vs GX

Super Smash bros, 64 vs Melee

Kirby, Kirby 64 vs Kirby Air ride

Gamecube wins,
Mario
Pokemon
F-Zero
Smash Bros

Paper Mario
Metroid(lol)

N64 wins
Zelda
Star Fox
Mario Kart

GameCube! It had TTYD, Melee, Double Dash, Wind Waker, F-Zero GX and others! The N64 is still a great console though!

EDIT: How the hell did I forget about the Prime games?!

N64 had some awesome games, but Gamecube had more awesome games. Gamecube is my second favorite console ever, after SNES

N64 easily for me

I could list about 40 games worth playing...

But Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Perfect Dark alone wipe the floor with Gamecube's mediocre lineup.

I don't really know if I'm just being nostalgic, but I just like games like Smash Bros. or F-Zero X more than their sequels. Although I love the Gamecube because of games such as Metroid Prime 1&2 or Tales of Symphonia, they can't compete against the awesome Rareware games the N64 had.

N64. I had more fun playing it and it was the first console I owned.
