Valkyria chronicles going to PC

Pretty poor selection of settings but that's certainly better than an unnamed entry in the Final Fantasy series lately... And that actually seems like the most important settings anyway. I'm actually slightly impressed by how you can set a limit to framerate. You can't do that in too many native PC games even, and you really should be able.

It's about what I would expect for this kind of port. Seems like it is a solid effort with the basic visual settings (resolution, VSync, windowed support) plus an unlocked framerate. It would be nice to have built in AA and AF but they are easy enough to add through drivers etc. There is also fully usable mouse and keyboard controls with remapable key bindings and the correct button prompts.

All round seems like it is a solid, no thrills port.

This is only a good announcement if that means Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 are also getting ports. So buy the first one fools.

As long as they're ported to Ps3/4 as well. Screw them if they bypass PS home consoles a second time.

This, if Sega knows what's good for them they'll port all 3 to the Vita/PS3/PS4 since it started out on PS3 first and then watered down to PSP and in the end we never got the 3rd title, if PC got all 3 and no one else got them that would be a proper insulting kick to the balls for Sony/Original fanbase players.

Probably doesn't help that on Steam there's already threads asking for the sequels just like whenever Platinum ports a game to PC there are at least 10 or more threads begging for Bayonetta 1+2, vanquish etc.

Much to my surprise, this gem beat out MGS4 as my game of the year 2008 with little effort.

Having played the 2nd and 3rd installment, I find that the series magnum opus is still the original VC.

Engaging story, addictive gameplay and memorable characters makes this a superlative and brilliantly executed game and the one of the best to ever come out of Sega and the PS3.

Happily double dipped to get it on Steam. Brilliant move from Sega. I'll wait for Vanquish now. :)

I can't believe I haven't played it yet. It does look great.

my first Valkyria Chronicles trophy! Such emotion...

I might get on sale, I already have it for my PS3 but there's a disc problem so I can't finish it... Such a drag, this game is amazing.

End of 2016 hardware sales:

Wii U: 15 million. PS4: 54 million. One: 30 million. 3DS: 64.8 million. PSVita: 15.2 million.

Six year old RPG Valkyria Chronicles tops Steam sellers list

Sega’s PC version of PS3 RPG Valkyria Chronicles has ‘blown all predictions out of the water’, the publisher has claimed.

The game release on Steam yesterday and was at one stage apparently the most downloaded game on the platform. Currently it sits in third place behind fellow Sega title Football Manager 2015 and Activision’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

“During its first 24 hours on sale, blew all forecasts and predictions out of the water. The award-winning Strategy RPG, originally released in 2008 for PlayStation 3, forced its way to the top of the Steam download charts, beating a host of brand new games to reach number one,” Sega said.

Sega Europe’s senior VP of commercial publishing John Clark added: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the fans for their support in the phenomenal success of this launch. We’re also delighted at the response from the Steam community which indicates that newcomers to the series are finding it as enchanting and engaging as those who have played it before.”

Valkyria Chronicles was first released on PS3 in 2008. Two sequels were released on PSP in 2010 and 2011 respectively.

Good news, maybe they'll port over VC2 and VC3.

I'm so tempted to buy it again, I have the PS3 version with some DLC but the original is so excellent that I want to play on PC with all the DLCs errrrr, still debating....
