I think both PS4 and X1 fail to hit 1M for November or December.
550k X1, 600k PS4. December 700k X1, 740k PS4.

PS4 will be close but I agree both will miss... 800-900k PS4.
That sounds reasonable as well.
I think the reason people should temper their expectations is that $349 and $399 are still REALLY expensive in an economy that's not all that great. PS4 had the Destiny bundle that got a lot of potential buyers to jump early, and X1 has had every kind of promotion imaginable trying to buff sales. Both of those situations probably bumped a notable portion of buyers forward to Sept/Oct, and it will hurt them in Nov/Dec to some extent.
By the way, a console has never had the first November be worse than launch November. Besides the Wii U tho. Over 1 million is very likely.
Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287
I'm actually thinking huge numbers for Xbox One. The $349 price cut isn't just a price cut, as it also includes the already announced bundles. For $349, to get a Xbone and TWO "real" full-priced Assassin's Creeds games is pretty good, and the Black Friday deals will be on top of that, as those are retailer specific. So on Black Friday, at Walmart, you could conceivably get a $300 Xbox One with two games, if Walmart goes that route. Or $350 and get three games. (Walmart usually either does a $50 price cut, or throws in 1-2 games for the same price, for their Black Friday deal). Throw in the Halo compilation, GTA V, new CoD as usual, etc. and I am thinking Xbox One will exceed the 360's best November. My estimate: 1.2 to 1.5 million, and yeah, I realize it is US only.
I went with 901k-1mil!
The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

You do know that the PS4 sold over 1m in September?
edit: Sorry NPD.
The PS5 Exists.
