The big difference is XB quickly began to make adjustments/changes to overcome their mistakes just as Playstation did last gen, but Nintendo did little to nothing for nearly a year and still have not done much to make meaningful corrections-  

Nintendo still needs to make its current and future Wii u owners happy but they also need to use the rest of the Wii u s life to figure out and plan for the next Nintnedo console launch -   As it stands. Ow it is going to be very difficult to get early buy in on their next console which is obviously critical in this age of games consoles 

Nintendo's really not good at making in-generation adjustments, but even if they could, they made so many mistakes with the basic design of the Wii U that they're fairly crippled with it now. The "Wii" brand in general is dead, Nintendo shouldn't have made the console as is to begin with. 

This is one of the greatest enigmas in videogaming. How can so many people still belive the WiiU will sell more??

XOne sold far better (per month) so far and WiiU has already its biggest cards played. This is so simple and so revealing... Am I missing something here? What is the thunderbolt that will raze XOne or drastically enhance WiiU and that I'm not seeing coming?

Nintendo fans are stubborn (like the company). By the time the Smash bump wears off (around Feburary of next year) even the most die hard fanboys will accept the truth that the Wii U is a giant dud. 

I dont know why you care much about shipments
those mean nothing (unless those sold out very quick)
but it is more important the Demand and the next gen graphics, budgets, cod an ac, people are on the ps4 train

wiiu will be second because smash and amiibo will disrupt the fkin market again

well i believe you want xone to be second the reality is that thats not going to happen and microsoft will close that division once and for all.

When this same discussion was happening in the summer far more ''Nintendo will come second'' people were being vocal, they've seemingly gone quite but are still voting in the polls. Their argument at the time were:

-3rd party won't help X1, or that the games will mostly help PS4. I said over an over again, even if a game gives PS4 a 600% boost and the Xbox just a 20% boost, that 20% will take the X1 far beyond the Wii U (at the time they were neck and necK)

- MarioKart 8 momentum is infinite and so will Smash Bros. Visibly not the case from pretty early on. Even when Wii U was riding on the boost, sales were falling steadily week by week with Hyrule Warriors, Beyonetta nothing to remedy it til smash. 
 
-Nintendo Exclusive = System Seller. People would throw up Hyrule Warriors, Beyonetta, Captain toad in sales discussions as if COD alone wouldn't give X1 a hardware boost big enough make all those exclusives irrelevant. Similar situation next year, a lot of exclusives for Nintendo but no real system sellers bar Zelda and possibly X. In reality Witcher 3 will probably sell more xbox's then Yoshi or Mario Maker will sell Wii U's and its just one of many big 2015 Next Gen Only titles that looks like an actually SYSTEM SELLERSand not just quality software there to satisfy the existing userbase ala 99% of Wii U's library. 

The fact that none of them care to support their vote is just evidence of them knowing that they're living in denial of whats really happening.

XB1 will be second long before 2015 (officially already is 2nd). And sorry to burst your bubble but Xbox aint going anywhere :)
