This could probably be the genre I enjoy the least (right there with RTS), but I can say I've loved some games here and there, like Onimusha or the first Devil May Cry. I'd like to hear people's opinion on the matter, which one is their favourite game and why (And also if they love the genre!)

If I had to pick one, I'd say Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, just because the cut mechanic was so damn fun. Runner-up for me is Onimusha 3, because I loved playing as Jean Reno.

Best Musou game for me is either 5XL or 8XL. 4 is where I started the series

The combination of great and somewhat accessible gameplay, story and believable characters, the scale and overall epic-ness, also top notch graphics.

Bayonetta 2.

I was skeptical that could outdo its sublime predecessor, but once again the bar has been raised.

GoW by far. And I need one on the PS4....

DMC3. Musou games can be good but DW8XL is not a good example of them. I like every game from the Warriors Orochi series as well as Pirate Warriors 2.
