Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Order: 1886 new not so linear video (Player explores instead of completing objective)

In the video below you can see a full playthrough of the demo, with the player taking his sweet time to roam a bit, but the most interesting part comes at the end. Another player, instead of rescuing the fallen policeman as instructed, just decides to ignore him, and walks around the area to explore what’s accessible.

Turns out you can actually enter a house and roam the street for a few tens of yards in both direction, showing some really lovely details, from the barricades to furniture, and even an umbrella. We’re in London after all.

Can’t say Ready at Dawn didn’t pay attention to detail when building the demo level. Hopefully we’re close to the time in which we’ll see something completely new, though. I’d say it’s right about time.

This is great news to me.  I'm glad it's not so linear that it prevents you from doing your own thing.

Can a mod move this to the Sony section for me?

great
now tweakup the gameplay to add more variety

Looks like this could be an interesting game. My main concern is their emphasis on making it too "cinematic"

I just wish the industry would stop calling all cover-based third-person-shooters "An answer to Gears of War"

Cool I suppose, the game has plummeted down the order (excuse the pun lol) of interest for now. I used to be very hyped for this game (willingly to buy a ps4 just for it) but now it has made second guess myself which doesn't happen rarely

It's still the same demo, though I appreciate that Dualshockers tried to explore a bit more for a different perspective. I hope we see some of the other content like the stuff we saw in the Tesla trailer soon.

I still want the developer to apologize for saying: '30 FPS is more cinematic'

RAD should bring out a new demo, it is already very old.. Still not convinced by this game.

my first quote :D

Impressive level of direction with the cinematic, but the game looks as linear as ever. He spends a better part of 2 minutes stuck to the exact same cover spot... I fail to see how that can be engaging.

Uh, are you serious? Not sure how you can say that a guy running in circles for a minute makes the game less linear. Sure, they modeled the inside of another house, but it is empty and boring, and serves no purpose. I don't get what this thread is trying to prove...sorry :/
