It's miles away from a silly gimmick like motion sensor gaming trying to take over traditional gaming.
Playing a game wihout having actually to own it ,at your own home and with your friends online truly is revolutionary, if not realistic. Sony's deliverance is not relevant (given their record and all) ,it's the possibilites it opens up for console gaming in general what's incredible, particularly when it's free.
Streaming was a exclusive to PCs , now it's on consoles. It's the next step on online play (which was also revolutionary)
