Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I am very strict with my scores, to me it isn't an easy task for a game to get an 8 or higher. It must be very good.

Going by how I have rated games here on VGC (in the game collection in my profile), I only gave one (1) game ever a 10/10. That game is Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I gave a couple a 9.5/10 or 9/10, but getting above 9 is extremely rare to me, because a game needs to be near perfect for me and my personal tastes. For all intends and purpose, the games I rated above 9/10 are the 'masterpieces'.

I find technical aspects to be of little to no importance to rating a game. Even the amount of content isn't necessarily what gives anything a high score. It's rather about the level of fun and satisfaction a game gave and how likely it is that I'll replay it, how valuable it is for me and how well it suits with my preferences. Even Zelda games, which is by far my favorite franchise, only managed three 9+ games.

I'll name them:

10/10
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time N64

9.5/10
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic PC
Super Mario 64 N64
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island SNES
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening GB

9/10
Sim City 4 PC
GoldenEye 007 N64
Mario Kart 64 N64
Super Mario Bros. 3 NES
RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 PC
SoulCalibur DC
Anno 1602 (US: 1602 AD.) PC
Super Mario Galaxy Wii
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Wii
Kula World (US: Roll Away) PS
Rome: Total War PC
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves PS3

No Uncharted even with that avatar? xD

Lol, 10/10 is very exclusive for me but Uncharted 2 is one of the closest games to achieve it.

People talk so well of BS: Inifity
I need to give it a try sometime xD

And you really love MGS huh? MGS5 must be one of the most antecipated games for you right now xD

It is! I am dying for MGS5 and UC4, however I am a little worried because MGS5 is embracing a different kind of ...gameplay type (open world). I remain hopeful though despite not liking MGS Peacewalker that much.

I don't know, maybe I'm just overly nostalgic and hate life in general now, but the only perfect games I've played were when I was young and got my SNES. I played a lot of perfect games until 2002.

SNES:
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (1992)
Super Metroid (1994)
Final Fantasy VI (1994)
Chrono Trigger (1995)
N64:
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998) - (11/10)
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (2000)
PS1:
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (1997)
Final Fantasy IX (1999)
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (1999)
PS2:
Final Fantasy X (2001)
Shadow of the Colossus (2005)
GC:
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (2002)
Metroid Prime (2002)
PC:
Civilization II (1996)
Fallout (1997)
Planescape: Torment (1999)
PS3:
Dark Souls (2011)

Yeah, I know. Sad.

PS: I absolutely loved Legend of Dragoon btw.

LoD should have a place there

But don't hate life, there are so much great games in there, life is good

Naa, not really. As you can see, I pretty much haven't played a masterpiece game since 2005 (IMO anyway.) Dark Souls was the exception.

Games are still good, just WAY too streamlined for me, lacking in depth.

Legend of Dragoon was like, a 9.7. I replayed that game more than any other but I recognize it's flaws. It was linear in like every way. There were literally no choices other than which character you wanted to use.

I really haven't had much for gaming experience but I would like to contibute my favorites for what they are.

Old favorite- the original Super Mario Bro.

Middle favorite- Fallout 3

New favorite- The Last of Us remastered
