Yes. They made so much more money that way.

Smash 4 looks fun and all but its definitely not a GOTY contender.

It definitely will be and probably win a couple.

I think their main goal of the smash bros 3ds was to get people to buy the wiiU version... Plus, the 3ds version costs $40 and the wiiU version costs $60 so for $20 more, you get additional content which makes sense to me loll

And I will be getting the wiiU version and I already have the 3ds version which I will keep

Their main goal was to sell the game twice. Remember, Nintendo got themselves into a situation where milking existing customers is the only viable option until the next generation handheld and home console come out.

Well, thats true but I dont think that the 3ds version is a waste of money as some claim. I do think that the 3ds version can hold its own against other 3ds games but it is clear that the wiiU version is the "definitive" version

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I'm getting a Wii U version along with Smash and Bayonetta 2.

While it didn't work for me, a lot of people who I know have 3DSes got Smash for 3DS - and all but one is planning on getting Smash for Wii U.

It's brilliant on the part of Nintendo, especially that eight-player Smash.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

:3

ooo I like the idea of GOTY what you said in your OP. Have all the Smash stage and character DLC. Every one will rebuy the game if they do that

Nintendo needed more time to perfect this game.
And from the direct, it looks like it was worth it.

And the 3ds probably gave them feedbacks in fixing things for the wii u.

And plus it releases near Christmas!/Holidays.

And Yes Day 1!!!!!!!!!!!

Pocky Lover Boy!

The 3DS version being released earlier because they knew the majority of fans would buy both versions is a pretty scummy move, but the amount of content the Wii U version has in comparison is a slap in the face to all people who believed that the 3DS version would have been atleast someone comparable to the Wii U version. There's a lot of content that would have no chance working on the 3DS version, but there's also just as much that would have worked fine on the 3DS version.

Nintendo clearly knows how to screw their fanbase, and they have such a loyal fanbase because all of them just take it. It's like going to prison and having no arguments about being the prison bitch.

Release the 3DS version much earlier? Are you serious? Barely 2 months isn't what I'd call much earlier.

It's long enough to get as many suckers as possible to buy both versions without being too long of a wait that they won't want the Wii U versioni at all.

I feel bad, you dont realize how biased you are towards Nintendo and its fans. Opinions are opinions but yours unfortunately show that your dislike of Nintendo fans are beyond help
