Which was better?

The Last Story 17 30.91%

Pandora's Tower 7 12.73%

Xenoblade Chronicles (see results) 31 56.36%

Total:55

No hesitation for me it's the Last Story. But to be fair, I did encounter the game breaking bug that prevented me from finishing PT, shame cause I was enjoying it. But at the same time, I did'nt care much if wether I ever finish it or not, so that's a clue on wich I liked better.

Disagree with the review score a little, lol.

Xenoblade Chronicles 10/10. There is nothing they could have done to make it any better on the Wii.

I disagree, there are some things they could have done better that have nothing to do with hardware limitations.

However, if I was using a ten-point scale I would give the game a 10. On a 20-point scale I'd give it a 9.5.

Probably my biggest issue with the game is its weak boss battles. Most of them are very by-the-numbers. Only a few bosses introduce new or unique strategies to the battle system. Xenoblade's battle mechanics are great, but it's used extremely frequently, so it would have been great to shake up the structure a bit more. And there are way, way too many boss fights that you don't get to see through to completion. Even if I'm not going to 'kill' this boss character right now, it would feel much more satisfying to deplete his health to zero than for the fight to end once it gets down to 70%. That works a few times, but when they keep doing it over and over, it gets dull.

As it is, most of the boss fights are just regular fights against stronger opponents, and isn't that what unique monsters are for? This probably wouldn't stand out to me so much if the game didn't have a few freaking awesome boss fights like the first fight against Jade Face on the bridge, and the fight against Yaldabaoth in the Core.

In particular, the final act of the game (starting after the latter boss fight I mentioned above) brings nothing new. All through the game, they keep giving you new party members, arts, and abilities to deal with the stronger enemies which get progressively more complex -- for instance, shortly after the tutorial boss that teaches you the break/topple/daze combo, they start introducing enemies that are immune to break or topple. A while after that, you get access to party members and arts that can force enemies into a topple or daze state, bypassing the prerequisite status ailments for those conditions. Most of the game builds upon this arms race between the player's party and the enemies you fight, but the last several hours just... drop it. You gain access to some new skill trees, but most of them require fighting enemies much stronger than the final boss to unlock (not to mention the SP grind necessary to actually activate them), so you'll most likely have beaten the game long before you can use them, and all they do is make you more powerful. That doesn't add much strategy to your battles at all, because the enemies don't get any new toys to play with to counter your buffs. They just get bigger numbers.

It's just the difference between a 9.5 and a 10 to me.

PT is the better game, no question.

Xenoblade is the master piece. Everyone agree??

Definitely agree.

XBC: 9/10

TLS: 8/10

PT: 7/10

The game can be a 10/10 cos it is a master piece, but it has some issues to solve... Some special enemies can't be found if you do something not in the right time, The games demands a bestiary. Also some enemies are much more difficult to beat that the final boss.

I love the game and is one of my all time favs and maybe my fav from last gen. But yeah it can be polished in some things

If you talk to the people in the town they will tell you the time of day it has to be to find the special enemies, and some enemies being stronger than the final boss I don't view as a design flaw, most games have enemies stronger than the final boss especially in open World JRPGs.

Do you really think I finished a game like Xenoblade and don't even noticed that you can talk people and that the enemies are not the same during the day or in the night? XD

I just say O have some missions I can't do cos the enemies simply are not there.. Even using guides.. About the final boss.. the final battle is epic in the ways it goes but the enemy is easy to defeat.

I haven't gotten TLS yet... Still on my wish list, I'll order it from XSEED when I get a chance.

Pandora's Tower though, it was great. I found the glitch a couple of times, but it didn't keep from beating the game. While the last dungeons were copy & paste of previous ones, they were still entertaining. Bosses and music are the highlights for me. Setting and characters were ok, and the plot kind of hard to follow up with. But the multiple endings are a nice touch.

I'll vote for Pandora's Tower in this one.

I'm just going off of what you said, you said you needed to look up things online, I can say I never did I just talked to people in the towns to find the secret monsters. It is WAY more time consuming but it can be done. If you're going to say something doesn't deserve a 10/10 at least have it for a flaw in the game.

And yet again for the main badguy being easy, I'll give a few examples. The Weapons in Final Fantasy 7 were WAY harder to defeat than Sephiroth. In Suikoden 2 Luca Blight is WAY harder to beat than Jowey. In Kingdom Hearts Sephiroth was WAY harder than Ansem. Birth By Sleep Vanitas's Lingering Spirit is WAY harder to beat than Xehanort. It's nothing new for characters in a game to be harder to beat than the main badguy. Yet again, it's not a flaw in the game. These characters were purposely programed to be more difficult than the main boss.

I don't like to use guides, and I never do. If I used this time was to try to find something (enemies) that were impossible to find. and even using I was no capable to do. And that just happened because, and it's a thing that happen to a lot more people, If you go far in the game, then are some enemies from earlier mssions you will can't find. I don't know if its a bug or what but it's a fact.!

And I never said the game doesen't deserved a 10. It is my fav games from last gen, but one thing is that i like it more than others game and other thing to be blind

I never had a problem finding the monsters.

Sadly I had :( some monsters aren't there. I thing it's a programation error or somthing.. you have to do som missions before yo go too far in the game or something like that. But I prefer to loof the good side.. I have a reason to replay the game again hehe. Well there's no need for a reason to come back to Xenoblade. is pure joy

The last story was underwhelming, it was kinda fun but the story made little to no sense.
Pandora's Tower is a different game, its story is told through the world and the things you found in the towers, it has a minimalistic story but it works for the game. Also the characters are better developed than TLS.

Overall, I'd say Pandora's Tower is the better game
