I'm not talking about the top tier of next-gen games so far, such as Ryse and Killzone: Shadowfall. But there are several next-gen games so far that Halo 4 on Xbox One has better graphics than imo, Wolfenstein for instance.


Games like Killzone and Ryse obviously look better, but they also don't run at 60 fps. Even at a reduced resolution Killzone:SF multiplayer struggles to achieve 60 fps.

It looks nice, but so does Halo 4 on the 360, even at 720p. The biggest improvement in IQ is because of the jump from 1280X720 to 1920X1080 (it's a 2.25X increase in resolution), it adds a lot more clarity to the image and aliasing is much improved as a result. I think 343 has made a few tweaks to the shaders and improved the lighting a bit, but it's not some night and day jump IMO.

60FPS is a nice addition though and will improve the way the game plays. 30FPS on the 360 did actually feel pretty fluid to me when I played through this earlier this year, tbh I thought it was 60FPS, I guess that's what having no dips in frame rate does to the experience.

Wow, looks better than a lot of next gen games. Idk if that says more about the job they did on Halo 4 on 360 or more about what most developers have done on next gen thus far.
