Why would Sony fans complain about the X1 install time????

I guess since I download almost all of my games, this has never been an issue for me. My first game was Dead Rising 3 on disc, and it took a long time, mostly because I had to download the large update before the game was installing.

What MS should do in order to clarify these install times, is actually let the user know when it's installing versus when it's downloading an update. If you go to play the MCC and you have that 20GB update or whatever, it's all going to look like one big long install time when actually it downloads the update first.

DR3 also lets you start playing rather quickly during installation, so that alleviated the issue quite a bit.

You can play while downloading this 20GB MCC patch. So it is not a bad wait... you will be finished before ends the first campaign in the disc.

BTW patch is another thing I don't understand... 360 have an amazing good patch system, years ahead PS3 but this gem PS3 has the best patch system... I don't remember any patch over 4GB (that it is already too big) on PS4 while Xbonehave 13GB, 16GB, 20GB, etc.

The 4GB patch on PS4 was Battlefield 4 because the Sony patch system had a issue that all patches were cumulative... so the first patch was 600MB the the second will be 600MB + the size of the second patch... but that was improved and now each patch have it own size, way smaller than cumulative.

Because that kind of practice is common among people who want to assure themselves and/or others that they aren't heavily biased. "See, reason X, Y and Z are why I chose PlayStation over Xbox/Nintendo."

One very regular complaint last generation was that Xbox Live Gold has a subscription fee, so about every two to three months there was a thread about that topic. These longwinded threads to complain have disappeared since Sony introduced their own online multiplayer paywall, so it's clear that the people who complained the most about Microsoft's paywall were Sony fans, even though they didn't own an Xbox and had no intentions to own one.

I guess the bottom line is that you don't understand because you aren't so biased that you have to spout nonsense to feel better about yourself.

Realistically for me paying 50euros a year for XBL wasn't too bad since I made a lot of use of youtube on the system in the sitting room, don't think I ever whined too much about paying for it considering I'm used to paying a sub having played wow since Vanilla til today.... but anyways I disagree with you, being given games like Gears of War 1 or Halo3 really did not increase XBL's value to be equal to that of what psn+ offers imo so the threads would still be in place if it was Xbox live gold members complaining about having to pay the fee... I say "having to" been busy a while now and not had gold in a few months so it's not like Xbox owners don't have the option of not paying for gold if they have issues with it or time to make use of the sub.

There is no spin to be had here, those threads about paying for Gold still existed long after games with gold was introduced anyway.

I would just like to bold RealStoppable's post and your post and just let you look at what you once wanted to be posted to people's foreheads...

I would also like to point out that Games with Gold started July of 2013...just a couple months before the PS4 released.   Quite honestly...I agree with you lol

I dont agree with Realstoppable's post because he claimed it was Sony fans posting negative threads about the online subscription fee.  You even say it yourself that "the threads would still be in place if it was Xbox live gold members complaining about having to pay the fee".  So in fact you dont disagree with me, but rather the statement that you once wanted posted to peoples heads.

I would also like to point out that you are also showing that IT IS XBOX fans who are dissatisfied with XBOX Live as it does not "equal to that of what psn+ offers imo" since games like Gears of War and Halo 3 are games that likely everyone owns.  I agree that they never really gave you value for XBOX LIve which really sucks for those consumers.  What I was initially trying to point out that it is XBOX fans and not Sony fans who are annoyed.  You are living proof of this, so thank you for your post.

Yeah I pointed out that I didn't think it was worth the cash, never made threads crying about it. My point exactly as an xbox fan who didn't think it was worth the cash. Those threads were not made by annoyed Xbox fans imo.

Yes because adding features and improving feautres is the same

i agree, having a feature that just needs improving is far better than not having a feature at all.

Nice strawman, but i wasnt talking about which one is better. My point was the former requiers a lot more effort

To the contrary I see tons of Xbox fans complaining that their HDD's aren't big enough.  Perhaps it's because they are afraid to delete game installs with the knowledge that they will have to waste half an hour the next time they want to play the game.

On the PS4, installing a game takes about the same amount of time it took to get out and put in the disc.  So it really isn't even a factor.

Also, to the other people saying the PS4 isn't fully installing the game - It is.  It is fully installing a game in under a minute.  It doesn't take much longer to install games on Steam, so it isn't crazy to think that a streamlined console could do it this fast.  Actually, why the hell does it take the X1 so long?!
