Their tablets are also part of the Xperia brand. My cousin (from Taiwan) actually owns their Xperia phablet. It's a good product, but... you know, the average consumer doesn't particularly care since it's not an iPad or a Galaxy. *Sighs* Either Sony just makes a few models or drop out entirely. Making as many models as they did this year was a big no-no.

Yeah and I'm not sure if Sony even advertised their tablets. I mean I never knew they even existed to begin with. :/

Well, here's their Xperia Z3 commercial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFM4DSJHs5w ). It does a good job advertising the phone's strengths and selling points like taking pictures underwater, PS4 Remote Play, and low light video recording. But as I've said before, it's not a Galaxy or an iPhone, so for many people, who cares?

Yeah I see Xperia commercials locally too but not much else. There is also the Chinese smartphones that are cheaper, so I guess Sony has allowed themselves to be caught between a rock and a hard place again, only in a different market -__-

reading that article, all I could think was "Is this guy mad at getting bad sushi or something?" because I'm not reminded of a hardbiting critic so much as I am an ethnocentric Japanophobe.

wow
wow
wow
people have realy short memories
criticizing a japanese bail out ??? when america needed one for 2 - 6 years , and they nearly destroyed the WORLD ECONOMY IN THAT PROCESS, and worst debt ,if america started paying off their debt it wont be cleared till your grandchildren are in their 40s
Kaz is being overly critized, sony just isnt what they used to be they arent a world leader in products anymore

As someone who is now heavily invested and works for the mobile industry(myself lawlz), Sony 's biggest market is the one that they haven't really tried too hard until recently.... The u.s

I have sold the lg l90, which is an okay low level handset almost as much as the galaxy s5...... And why? Because it is 99 dollars.. And is an essential handset... Sony's xperia line is AMAZING, super underrated... And under appreciated ..... The u.s market hates change.. And iPhone oand until recently galaxy is all they care to buy... For higher blend models.. Sony needs to advertise and release lower end capable handerts to u.s carriers.... And then have ppl upgrade to their flagships... By the way.. I work for the uncarrier.. And touched the z3 yesterday... It is a much better device than the i6 or s5... Hands down.. Screen, camera.. And feel comibned ..... Showing ppl the phone and they immediately upgrade from an s5.. Ppl just don't know they exist... Especially in the u.s ..... The z line should be selling way more than it is ..... Sony for the first time ever is taking the u.s market seriously with z3 and z3v...... And if the z4 ends up with SD 810 and 4gb of ram..... They should fucking use it to turn galaxy lovers to Sony lovers

I got a z2, its a great phone bought 3 altogether. Lost my first one (late night out accidently threw it in the bin...) got a replacement and bought my fiance one. It is one of the best phones out there and they should double down on it.

yeah they are too patient
tho tbh sony are dumb , sony should open their tabs and phoenes to other carriers
and should start heavily advertizing their phones and tabs in all markets

How was BR worth it if they have lost billions since they launched it?  It was a simple question.

How was Xbox worth it if it's lost billions since it launched? Your logic not mine so your reply is to you not to me :)

I love how everyone is just saying stuff but not posting any facts or financial overviews (quarterly reviews i.e.) so they have some facts to back up their statements.

So if sony goes down what will happen to playstation? Serious question.

Right now Sony is under protection from being bought out so PlayStation should be ok until then. However if this passes they will be vulnerable to takeover. If this happens then whoever takes over Sony would be able to do whatever they want to it, including selling PlayStation, Sony Worldwide Studios, Sony Financial etc. At least this is how it usually works in theory. With Japan itself practically owning Sony though it might not work like that.

thats debatable.

what isnt is the capacity to experiment and lose cash.

Sony has no capacity to do that.  Ms has almost limitless capacity.

Really? So if shareholders say enough is enough then it's OK? If they had limited money to throw away (they've thrown a lot on the Xbox so far) then their would be no rumblings behind the scenes of it's lack of performance. Do you think they will be happy with MS getting whipped this gen and potentially getting whipped next gen too? I doubt it but if say they've unlimited resources to lose without caring then sure you must be right!
