So, then again, why complaining about this when nobody batted an eye for AC 4 Jackdaw Edition ? Why complain about this when nobody said anything about Halo 4 GOTY, Dishonored GOTY, Borderlands 1/2 GOTY, Batman Arkham Asylum/City, Civilization V, Forza 5 GOTY, Fallout 3 GOTY, Red Dead Redemption GOTY, etc... ?

Because I wasn't around or didn't see the post for it?

Life doesn't exist in some sort of vacuum where every single itteration happens in my attention nor am I omnipotent to present an opinion on every itteration. Someone brought this up, I saw it, and, given that this game has seen one rerelease already and a whole tomfoolery of DLC, I chimed in on this being yet another egregious show of magpie policies.

The TLOU: R is a GOTY edition for PS4 owners. TLOU: Goty Edition is for PS3 owners.

And this is not the first time it is happening. Halo 4 is the same, yet you are proudly saying that you are buying it. You should be against it out of principle.

I've already responded to a Halo 4 comment. Just read that.

Your original comment don't have a single reference to the launch timeframes. You were talking about something different. When you understood that your original argument didn't have any merit, you started talking about them.

This is my 2nd comment

So just because Halo 4 was released a bit earlier than TLOU it is OK? Interesting viewpoint. Where do you draw the line? It seems 1.5 years is not OK but 2 years is OK. 1.75 years?

Also your second comment says that you've never seen this happen this much. You are talking about the quantity of the releases. Basically you are saying that one GOTY edition is OK but 2 is not. You probably forgot the GOTY edition of Halo 4 there.

Halo 4 GOTY was $40. Halo MCC comes with Halo CEA, Halo 2A, Halo 3, Halo 4, every single DLC/PC map from all 4 games and a Halo 5 beta for $60. Halo MCC is fan-service. 2 GOTY editions of the same game in the same year at $50 is milking.

I wasn't aiming at you specifically, I noticed my syntax wasn't the best, sorry about that.

But you said, and I quote, "Might as well never buy a game "new" from Naughty Dog if you're going to expect to get this sort of nonsense in such short order."

So why are you specifically criticizing Naughty Dog for the practice of GOTY editions when pretty much all studios/publishers do it as well ?

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

Meh, I'd rather get the PS4 version.

But you seem absolutely disgusted by the fact that a game is rereleased in a cheaper package with more content. I mean an act so dishonest and preposterous should have given you enough reason to create a thread for it. Personally I am sorry for it, if you had acted accordingly at that time many people would save themselves from this shameful practices.

By the way I hope that TLOU is rereleased for PS5 at some point just for the continuation of these threads, hopefully there will still be these haters left around by then. It is hilarious.

TLOU GOTY PS3 is 39$.

TLOU Remastered (which is basically TLOU GOTY PS4) was 45€ where I live, so I think it was 49$, and quite some effort was put into it (just watch at the shots taken with Photo Mode, all in 1080p and 60fps locked).

It's really not that excessive in my opinion.

Is it really?

Edit: Just realized this GOTY Edition is only for Europe. That makes it less of a milking. I guess that's ok then.

Just read the link in the OP.

"The edition will be available at €39.99 RRP across Europe"

I don't see why it would cost more than 39$ overseas.
