Destiny was the "new thing" of september, I believe that once MCC and COD:AW releases, the player base is going to greatly decrease.

But it should be safe, until there.

I need 18 more shards to hit level 29. Going to try raid on hard next week, then I'm good.

It's a mixed bag. The shooting mechanics are fantastic, pretty much top of the genre. So is the art direction, the areas that are there look fantastic, color palette is nice and varied. I also like the constant stream of loot for armor and guns.

But there is a lot if bad. The areas are very nice to look at but there is not enough of them and you have to revisit the same areas multiple times. The story is atrocious. People have said there is a lot of lore and story if you go to the website and read the grimoire cards but I'm not going to and I shouldn't have to. Why doesn't the game have a tab on it's menu to find and read all of the lore like every other game in existence? Voice acting, Bill Nighy aside, is poor. I also don't like the stop start nature of the missions. Mission variety is also extremely limited, you know the ghost is going to scan multiple machines in each level which will trigger hordes of enemies.

I'm level 16 and near the end of the story now. I tried the multiplayer for one match yesterday and it was decent, but 95% of my game time is spent in singleplayer so I don't think I will spend much time there at all. I may try some of the strike missions and whatever else there is.

Overall I would give it a 6.5. Pretty enjoyable, but flawed. Seems like the kind of game that has set the foundations for a fantastic sequel, like Assassin's Creed, rather than be fantastic itself. I am not disappointed though, I was never hyped for it and am borrowing a friend's cpoy anyway

The Strikes are actually quite fun so I would recommend delving into them when you get a chance.

And I don't think the story itself is particularly poor, it's just told really badly. You would think that devs would have figured out that having a story told outside of the main game is just a bad idea. There's still a lot of potential in the game so hopefully they'll meet it with time.

So Destiny was hyped to all get out, then the reviews more or less panned it. So what is the view on the game a month and a half after release.

I still play it all the time. I am over 200 hours total and love it still. I have an unopened Shadow of Mordor waiting for when I get tired of this game, and I dont know when that will be.

My take? I have played Diablo 2, Wow, GW2, FF14 and other games that have massive replay value and non of them were this fun still after release. The reviewers had no clue what exactly they were review and thus did not grade it correctly. Destiny is its own animal, and if you review compare to other games you will just confuse yourself.

I am getting to the point that I want to get tired of Destiny so I can play Driveclub, Shadow of Mordor, and other games coming out soon but I can't it is still so much fun.

This is hilarious. I'm still playing the hell out of Destiny to. When I thought I was getting bored of the game I downloaded Shadow of Mordor and I played maybe an hour total and that's about it back to Destiny.

I had a similar experience but the game I gave a shot wasn't Mordor but Evil Within.  I find myself on Destiny daily.  Whether running through bounties, weeklies, pvp, or farming relic iron with my friends, it's still a good time to me.

Yea I want to get the Evil Within also but at this point it would just be silly I'd be wasting money. Don't plan on spending anymore money on games until Destiny is out of my system. Well actually Dragon Age will get me to stop I love those games. Even number 2 was amazing to me it took a step back in some areas but it took a step forward in others so I still thought it was great.

I HATED Dragon Age 2.  I am hoping for a much better game out of the third one.  It is probably the only game that will pull me off Destiny for a while.  Just long enough to cover November before the first DLC for Destiny in Dec I bet!

The thing I loved about Dragon Age 2 was the story it was so much better and a lot more interesting then in the first Dragon Age. Which I felt had a bland and over done story. The combat and traveling through the same areas was a huge step back and hopefully they heard the complaints and resolved those issues. Looks like they'll be continuing with the same story that was going in number 2 also so that's even better I really like the templar vs mage scenario they have going.

This game was reviewed properly i think. Its campaign was basically horseshit that makes no sense anf justifies nothing of any what you have done for the last 12 hours. The ending answered nothing and every race supposedly on the same side fight eachother rather than you. Its just not well thought out. They introduced unbalanced things then remove them and the multiplayer was unbalanced. I liked it but it was dissapointing it was a good 25 hours with friends on strikes.

ok I agree the story was trash. It was easy to make sense of it though I just don't think you cared enough to try and because of that the story is even worse to you. The ending was simple you destroyed something that was stopping the light from coming back or something along those lines don't remember anymore but that was the basic gist of it.  Every race is not on the same side they just aren't on the side of light it' s not hard to figure out.

"They introduced unbalanced things then remove them"

This is the case for all games like this it happens and removing the unbalanced things is a good thing.  I'd say a good 25 hours for a $60 game is great but that's just my opinion.
