I call overinflated bullshit.

Bethesda have done it with a few games already, as has EA with SoM, so why not Ubisoft? My guess is the minimum spec will play at 1080p, 60fps, Ultra graphics settings. Recommended will be for 4K or something equally ridiculous.

I'm starting to get suspicious that publishers are striking deals with hardware manufacturers to over inflate their minimum specs. Bring on the conspiracy theories!

Being Ubisoft, I wouldn't by that trick (but on medium or high, not ultra settings). After all, the min. CPU is miles better than what's inside in those consoles and the min. GPU is almost 50% more powerful too.

But as soon as the game launches we'll find out, either from reviews or from pissed users.

A 7970 is actually 100%+ more powerful than the GPU in the PS4, 1.8TF vs 3.7TF.

We all know that TeraFlops don't translate well into fps.

With that said, not even your above graphs show the 7970 being twice as fast as a 7870 and I actually compared an HD7870 (which I know is more powerful than what the PS4 has) with a GTX680 at Anand's bench:

A 7870 is 2.5TF a 7790 at 1.792 is the closest match for the PS4

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1035?vs=1348

As you can see roughly double the performance from a 680, and more in some cases.

And vs the 7970 same thing roughly double except when it hits another bottleneck.

In terms of specs, the GPU on the PS4 is somewhere between an HD 7850 and a 7870, but of course with lower clocks so it is harder to compare, but with the ability that consoles give to optimize, I would even put it slightly ahead of the 7870, maybe even 7950 in some cases.

The X1 GPU is the one closer to a 7790, but again it will punch much higher than what its specs say.

Still, a 7970 or a 680 are much, much faster chips that should be more than enough to handle this game, if coded properly. But again, the first thing PC gamers will do it set the res to 1080p so it's not a fair comparison, is it?

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Ubisoft... The minimum specs are expensive, no bad feelings for poor people?

Really? 6GB of RAM?

The RAM thing is not the worst part. After all, with PS4/X1 having 8GB (albeit not all of that is available to devs), it makes sense to see games asking for more than 4GB of RAM and 3 or 4 GB of VRAM to count for OS, DX, Nvidia/AMD drivers, etc.

This will be the first blockbuster with a minimum requirement exceeding my GPU. Recommended GTX 780 or R9 290X?!?! I smell horrible optimization, really horrible. This is utterly ridiculous by Ubisoft.

Well at least their not asking for 6gb of gfx memory, that one scared quite a few ppl.

6GB is an OPTION.  I applaud those devs for allowing people to take full advantage of their hardware.  If you only have 2GB then it is fine, medium settings will look great!

What I meant was that, a 6gb option is nothing more than a lie,saw a guy playing at 1600p the game only used 5.2gb with the ultra texture pack instead of the advertised 6gb for 1080p, I have two really powerful systems, the one a use for 4k it's an i7-4790k at 4.8 and GTX 780ti Classified tri sLI at 1300,thats a lot of raw power but even I was scared by those false spec requirements since those 780ti only have 3gb of memory, and even when the game realeased, it didn't even support sli, had to force it with the driver, also many ppl were experiencing fps dips, myself included turns out it was the in game v-sync,forced it with the dirver dips were gone.

So my point is,if devs spend more time optimizing the game, instead of creating false system requirements, they would turn out so much better.

Ubisoft has been written off my list a long time ago. I hope people wake up and come to that realization as well.

It's rarely to see games asking for more than 4GB of RAM, but i think this game reqiures more RAMs & more Cores or speed just because of open world plus AI dudes to compute.

I'll be getting it on PS4 anyway, would be fun to play with DS4. For those new to AC on PC, don't buy the game without a controller for your PC. The controls are a nightmare with keyboard + mouse.
