If I was buying a card today there is no way I would look past the 290X. $360 at Amazon

I think the GTX 970 is the better deal ...

Whats the lowest price I can get it for?

The launch price is $330 and some vendors will have deals too so ...

I'm going to make a new build soon for Elite Dangerous and The Witcher 3, one of the output of my trusty 7970 lost its green, and I'm looking forward the 290X pricedrop. I'll have a look at Sapphire's products cause they have always been excellent.

These pricedrops are excellent for me, I'm always looking to buy my cpu products a year or so after release to get a better price/performance/futureproof, and have enough feedback on those cards.

I thought it was $360 but you can get the 290X for $329 from Amazon with a mail in rebate that would make it $299!

Not gonna lie ...

That's a pretty good deal there.

If you have a well ventilated case, go for it!

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

It seems like they just keep getting cheaper by the day. Good time to be a pc gamer thats for sure.

It is indeed a good time to be a PC gamer ...

That being said I'm excited for new features like conservative rasterization and fragment shader ordering.

Of course things could be better.  Their hands are tied though.  Do you think Nvidia was happy when they couldn't respond to the 5870 for 1.5 years!?  Sometimes things just work out like this.

Uh huh ...

No hard feelings but the gap was 7 months, not a year and a half.

My bad, but then this lines up pretty well with what I said.  The difference is the 390X is going to be FAR stronger than the 980 as opposed to how the 480 was just stronger than the 5870.

Haha, way ahead of you.

Man, that's my dream build! I have some space problems here, but I really want my PC games on the big screen.
