oh and BTW whenever I had issues with installing it ended up being my internet connection and nothing with the console. My internet was fine but I didn't realize I was suffering from dips in my service, something I didn't really notice but my x1 surely did.

Well even if I'm having connection issues, my download completes eventually.

Most of my X1 collection is digital downloads. It seems to be a specific issue with this Halo:MCC download. I literally had it going for days and it keeps restarting from either 4% or 31%.

Not really sure why you went into jerk mode there. Yeah, they probably just typed in "halo support" in knowledge base search, which is funny, but it's not like they're trained to deal with game related questions at all. I'd say that the majority of service reps wouldn't know off-hand who developed MCC.

I've been troubleshooting this problem for about 5 days. I've done some research about it online as well.

This was day two of getting help from MS.

They kept blaming my connection, making me do useless things even though all other downloads are working fine. They weren't listening to anything I was saying and kept giving me useless help. He sent me to Bungie's website!!!

He started talking about port forwarding and nat settings. Why would I have to do any of that for a simple download?

At some point you just get tired of this shit and have to be rude. I understand how to download a game, at some point they need to admit something is wrong on thier side or with the machine. Having me repeat the same basic troubleshooting MULTIPLE TIMES was going nowhere.

Yay!

I once bought Gears of War (judgemend was it I think) on 360 that came with 400 MSPoints.

The codes were expired but you could not see this until you opened the box which obviously happens after purchase.

MS does not care.Said  I should return it to the shop where I bought it. The shop said "its a MICROSOFT GAMES studio and its 360 game go ask microsoft for the 400 MSPoints."

MS wants me to go to the shop again and does not want to help me.

Yay for incompetence!

I had the most horrible experience with MS chat support days ago. They were nice to chat with but god, are they clueless. My issue isn't resolved.

So the code didn't work?

A few years ago I ordered a Xbox Gold Membership on ebay, it was expired but still worked.

You need to stop sounding so helpless.  You have an issue they do not know how to deal with because no one else has the issue.  Are you expecting them to be God-like at solving every issue that comes their way.  Port Forwarding and Nat settings are big impacts on a download like this.

He sent you to Bungie website probably because of the exact reason in the response you quoted.

Simply delete the download, full console power cycle, restart modem and router, don't use WiFi, make sure your speeds are normal via pingtest/speedtest.net, and go from there.  There are plenty of options to try.  Being rude to customer service for no good reason is just ignorant, get rid of that mentality.

Exactly what I was thinking. When you started to talk about Phil Spencer, I almost stopped to read...
The support guy is supporting the Xbox One system itself and the question about the game dev. was fair and the guy was just trying to help the way he could with the tools  available to him. Going in jerk mode like this is not really helping.

In any case, weird problem. One thing you can try is to download it from somewhere else. I know it may not be that easy but at least you'll know for sure if the problem is coming from the internet connexion or not.

Very easy to spot the people who never worked in customer support :)

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

This is exactly why I would never want to work in customer service. You came off as a complete jerk in the chat you posted.

If I were him I would have had quite a few choice words for you.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Great advice, you should work MS chat support.

I've downloaded many games digitally. I never had to change port forward or nat settings. Nor does that seem like a solution for a download constantly resetting itself. That seems like a bug to me.

I basically did everything you mentioned. I looked online and found people with the same issue but nothing worked for me. I did all the basic troubleshooting before contacting MS. When I eventually called MS, their solution was basic troubleshooting. Today I did the chat with MS and their solution was basic troubleshooting. Did I ever tell you the definition of Insanity?

A simple download shouldn't be this difficult considering I've already downloaded many items on Xbox One.

Bear in mind that isn't the entire discussion. There was about an hour of useless troubleshooting prior. I've been doing the same shit over and over just for a simple download. If you don't get sick of that crap at some point, well good on you.

By the way, the Bungie link was useless. It basically said go to MS for help...
