nope cause i refuse to not only pay for those prices to rent games i already own or can own for a much cheaper price then it is to rent it and also i outright boycott any service that forces me to have an always online connection to play single player games

Back in my day, I was ecstatic that I could pay $7/5 day rental of any game at my local blockbuster.

Exactly! Back in PS1 days I never bought a single game, I only rented and the cost was exactly that. I don't see how paying the same price for effectively the same thing, but with the convenience of not having to leave the couch is suddenly an outrageous cost burden.

Game streaming is the future #dealwithit

Mine is a bit annoying, Dynasty Warriors 7 apparently is the digital version, and you cannot get platinum trophy on the digital version.

No, it's not a stupid counter argument, there are many people out there who have no interest in a home console, but are interested in games, and happen to own a TV, Tablet, or Phone.  As far as compatibility, we've no idea how many companies will allow it on their products.  Again, the amount of people this could touch, are the kinds of numbers the games industry wishes it could reach.

Bolded: If you want to buy a home console.  Not everyone does.  Many, many more people feel the need to have a PC/Phone/Tablet/TV.

and yet they'd still need to go out and buy a controller,  its just a much better deal all round to buy the actual console and the games.

p. s.  dont ream off installbase figires for mobile and pc like it matters,  fact of the matter is the reach there will be minimal at best,  of people wanted to play the ps3 games on offer theyd have done so by now,  on another platform,  on their pc or have bought a ps3 to do so already.

Right...because a controller @ $60 is like investing in a console....o.O

If you can't see how this is an enticing demographic for Sony to be targeting, that's not really my fault.  As far as reaming off install bases, it's called supporting data.  Whereas, all you're doing is giving your opinion, for about 7 billion people.

PS. I'll do whatever I want, as long as I'm following forum rules.

boy are you in for some dissapointment when they reveal (or more likely,  dont)  their usage stats.

I have a 35Mb connection and the test connection says it's still not enough.

I've also decided to boycott Youtube for not letting me watch videos unless I'm connected to the internet.  It should be illegal.

Why?  I don't care if it succeeds or doesn't, I really don't.  I personally, have no interest in the service, whatsoever.  Then again, I have a gaming PC, and a PS3.  So, clearly this service isn't intended for me.  If others find it useful, great.  However, my existence doesn't hinge on it's success.  But, can I see that there's a shitload of people out there who don't have a console, but do have a TV/PC/Laptop/Tablet/Phone?  Yeah, it's pretty obvious.

When it becomes available on MS store for tablets and get a subscription offer, I will definitely jump onboard. I think both MS and Nintendo should follow Sony's example and transition towards streaming. Then I can play all games with my 360 controller :).

willingly argues about value and potential reach..

distances self from any commitment to its success.

right.

Ugh...what...I...don't...even...whaaaa?

You boycott a service that is...basically...a streaming service for games because you would like to stream games WITHOUT being connected to the internet.

Ummm...yeah...ok.

Ah the days of game rentals. I actually miss them. Waiting for a holiday or a random weekend to ask my dad to let me rent a game. It always worked out for me since I could only really play a game during the weekend (Cause you know, school and all). Plus it let me take risks with games that I didn't want to spend 80+ dollars on (Cause the Cad price of games was terrible back then). It was always nice to try a game out before buying it too. I hope this succeeds. But time will tell :(.
