How much will Smash help Wii U sales?

Barely noticeable boost 53 13.59%

Big boost, but only temporary 259 66.41%

It will single-handedly save the Wii U 78 20.00%

I don't think the Wii U has a chance without a real 3D Mario and Zelda to back it up. The Wii had those in the first year. The Wii U won't for at least the first three.

Nothing on that list is going to save the Wii U. Modest expectations are a must when you talk about Wii U games.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Hardware wise i dont think it will be a cure all but it absolutely will continue to be the most popular fighter in history

There are times where I wish this forum had no rules so I could speak candidly....but alas, I must say: I respectfully disagree with this sentiment and wish you would please stop using it. I believe we have had this discussion before, but you don't seem to care that you sound ridiculous. Feel free to dislike the style but calling SM3DW a fake 3D Mario (or whatever you choose to mislabel it) is just plain silly

Good day

EDIT: I share the same sentiments toward the prase "save Wii U"...

Pokemon MMO

I believe it will help Wii U achieve substantially better holiday sales than the previous year and help build the baseline up, but I doubt we will see sustained 100k weekly sales from it going in January.

" Rebellion Against Tyrants Is Obedience To God"

gonna be interesting to see if it's going to do better than 3D World or not.

Ugh. That chalkboard. Whoever made it was an idiot.

OT: Nothing will save the Wii U. It might sell better than what haters expect (instead of 15-18 million, it could sell 22-24 million), but it's just a cursed console. Sure, Smash will give it a boost and I think it can raise the baseline a bit more, but it won't change the Wii U's fortune, or missfortune.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

That chalkboard is a troll. It's a laundry list that no one claimed would happen. It's a strawman in image form.

I think the WiiU will have a good holiday. I think Smash and the amiibo toys will help that, along with Captain Toad, Mario Kart 8...

But really...it's called Christmas. Nintendo does most of their business during the holidays and it's difficult to just say it was because of Smash. That being said, it's a great time for its release.
