And Mummelman thinks that I'm being silly by saying that the XBO will sell < 170k per week for Q4...... 90k off this week, and it has only hit/surpassed that figure twice, all year..... Of which those weeks they only surpassed that figure by ~10k

It's baseline seems to be 80k ATM, as that's what it's dropped to twice post release of something/new territory.

Truly abysmal, needs a $150 price cut right now, or the brand is fucked, and won't make it much past 30mill lifetime.

Bolded: Yes, yes I do, very much so. 170k weekly average for Q4 is impossible. You expect these numbers to carry on during the holidays? And why didn't you answer me in that other thread where we were having the actual discussion instead of taking a cheap shot in here that I could just as easily have missed?

Italic: It needs to cost 249$ right now in order not to be fucked. Wow. I'm starting to understand why you shy away from debate in here.

If you're so confident in your predictions and numbers, I don't see why you wouldn't want to discuss them properly.

Hey Mummelmman, just a question. How much do you think the Wii U will sell by the end of the year?

I think it will end up pretty close to my prediction in the sig when all is said and done, it sold about 1.9 million for Q4 last year and has shown good growth this year, not too confident that this growth percentage will follow into this quarter though, despite Smash releasing in November. I say somewhere around the 9.7-10 million mark; leaving about 20% or more growth over last year (which was a pretty bad holiday season at any rate). 10 million could be tough though, but overall the Wii U has performed more less as I expected for 2014 (I imagined 40-50% up yoy due to the low baseline in 2013, it appears right on track for such numbers).

Weekly sales for the PS4 were like 200k but the lifetime sales went up 400k.

Wonder if they finally assigned the last of the sales from the 10 million announcement's missing 700k.

Either way, after the last few weeks of the Xbox One releasing in multiple countries, the PS4 in back to total domination.

Are their any other factors that could allow the Xbox One to overtake the PS4 for one week of the year?

Could the Master Chief Collection or Sunset Overdrive do it for exclusives? Or will Call of Duty bundles manage to push the Xbox One ahead?

Nope, just weekly sales + post NPD adjustments. VGC was undertracking the PS4 for the month of september by almost 120k. And if you see 11.4 on the home page and then you see 11.8..... it doesn't actually mean that the PS4 is up 400k. eg

11,440,000 is wriiten on the front page as 11.4
+320,000 it becomes 11,760,000.
What you see on the front page for that will be 11.8

I think the only realistic things that could allow the XB1 beat the PS4 for a week this year is Halo:MCC. Thats the only thing that has a small chance but I don't personally think it would. The COD:AW bundle happens to cost $500. The PS4 has even outsold the XB1 when it practically cost $50 more. I don't think a $500 XB1 will somehow outsell the PS4. I even think COD:AW will sell better on the PS4.

That's a given, it will be close in the US, and Europe + ROW will make the difference

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

So much for that 90K baseline for XBone after tier 2 launch. Wonder how things will go after the launch of PS4 in China.

Pretty much confirms what we told, the baseline will go back to 50-60k after the holidays

PS4 is an unstoppable machine, I can not imagine when you go bloodbourne and the order the same month ...

I don't think bloodbourne will be a big system seller worldwide i only see a boost in Japan

Bloodborne is a systemseller, a true one. I follow Darks Souls 2 streams on Twitch and videos on Youtube and it's full of PC elitists who are complaining about it being exclusive and how they will be buying a PS4 for it. They don't like doing that though lol! Funny to watch the power of a good exclusive game.

I was about to say the same. Bloodborne will be a huge seller, both as a standalone game and a system-seller. I don't think there are gamers out their quite as passionate as the hardcore Souls crowd, and Bloodborne looks to be a very good place to dive into the franchise which is what I will definitely be doing. I've never played a Souls game before and I'm not even sure I'll enjoy it, but it's difficult not to at least get swept along a little when that Bloodborne hype-train goes thundering by.

no

the baseline for 2015 will be 75 - 100k

that will depend on what ms is going to offer (skus, bundles and price)

but the xbox one will not go down to 50k again after this holiday.

next two weeks will be low. maybe hit 65k
