Forums - Sony Discussion - Why did PS3 owners accept lazy ports?

Tagged games:

What I find interesting is that PS3 would, as suggested by OP, get the lesser port. It would usually be lower resolution or some fidelity was turned down. We accepted this because it was a"hard to code for" cell processor. Yet a PS3 exclusive would usually look better than any 360 game. There was hardly any parity. Today the PS4 trounces the X1's power, yet now developers are claiming they want parity and they bring down the PS4 to X1's fidelity. I think we can see who is to blame.

This is the problem right here. They did have a choice of buying a 360...but brand loyalty is more important than quality these days.

This is so ignorant. Some people just want to have one system per gen to game on and they all have different criteria to pick said system and for some people something like "superior multiplats" just isn't one of them.

Why do you think over 5 million people bought an X1? Or over 7 million people bought a Wii U? Do you think all those people are now sitting at home being mad that their system of choice does not have the best version of multiplats/no multiplats at all or that all of them are going out to buy a PS4 or PC aside from the system they already own, so they can play the best versions of multiplats? No, for them that factor simply wasn't all that important.

And that was the same with the multiplats on PS3, people that bought those games on PS3 just didn't care that much.

This whole "we're not accepting lazy ports" crap has only started with the Wii U, where some Nintendo fans needed to find reasons to explain the poor performance of said multiplats and "people don't buy a Wii U for third party multiplats" was apparently not a reason they were willing to accept.

This, they werent gonna buy them anyway

X2 Because Nintendo conditioned Nintendo gamers not to rely on third party. Those who wanted third party jumped ship generations ago. They refuse to accept that Nintendo is a hard headed but gifted company and unwilling to play ball unless its on their terms.
