I think I have none

I am more motivated by unlocking cool stuff, for example before PS3 had Trophies I got the Big Boss Emblem on MGS4 (Beat the game on the Boss Extreme difficulty with 0 deaths, 0 alerts, 0 kills, 0 recovery items used, 0 special items used, and in under 5 hours).

p.s. trophies lost all meaning when the ps3 was hacked and people could use tools to add trophies to the database with any date/time they wanted, for games they didnt even own.

Yep. I got to 2k kills or something and just said fuck it. I was playing COD4 at the time so no way was Resistance 2 getting the hours needed for that online. 

I love the 8 player co op and if they had a really long trophy for that instead i would have done it. Got every trophy apart from the 10k kills. Bullshit from insomniac. 

It's good to compare numbers. You have over 4000 trophies, 50 Platinum. I have 1500 plus trophies but only 5 platinums. Your ratio of trophies to platinums is 1.25%, mine is .33%.

Majority of games, I just don't bother platinum and the ones I do are usually easy (or I got loads of trophys anyway and just finish the last bit).

I think that kept a lot of people from the plat. It ticked me off, loved playing that online. I think my first was Burnout Paradise.

I think I have 8 or 9 platinums. Though at this point I am close on Destiny and Diablo 3, so I might wind up in the 10+ club soon. I only go for platinums on games that I really enjoyed and want to get more out of.

i don't care much for platinums, and only go for them when it's not stupid farming and only as long as it's fun to play the game.
for example i got all the trophies in far cry 3 except the online ones.

my mentality exactly.  If I can't get some enjoyment out of it there's no point since there's no real reward for getting them.
