So question, is the X1 viable without Kinect? It seems a lot of the cool extra features are rendered cumbersome and/or useless without it. Like, snapping for example. It's the one thing that's stopping me from picking one up at the moment (the bundle would be Kinectless)

How does snap, screenshots and video record work without kinect?

You double tap the guide button to snap and presto........ you then simply press x to record.

I have had my X1 for 4 months now, and i have not yet once used kinect (although that will change when i play D4 Dark Dreams Don't Die)

Bleh, I'm looking forward more to a complete ui overhaul a-la xbox 360.

Once again Microsoft is providing owners with another fantastic update. I almost wanna call out Major Nelson on Twitter and tell him to tell the great folks working hard on these updates to stop. Enough already. We can only handle so much awesomeness. The mercy rule is in effect. You're making the other guys feel bad.
