Forums - Sales Discussion - Global Software Week ending October 4th - US Preorders up!

Brilliant start for Mordor. I hope it has long strong legs. I went to buy it at my local store and they were sold out of PS4 version and had only 1 or 2 of xb one version left. If the first shipment is mostly all sold through then there might be a big drop in SoM sales until the next shipment gets to stores. Or it's just my local store hopelessly under-ordering the game. Problem for me is that I have store credit I want to use to buy the game so I can't go elsewhere.

FH2 solid but not stellar. Probably exactly in line with expectations.

And holy crap! TLOUR almost 1.5 million after only 10 weeks, and that excludes digital. And some people thought 1.5M was improbable. I think I predicted 2 million, which is looking a bit low now.

I'm really not sure about those sales ... Where's the other 100k coming from for the XB1?

The PS5 Exists.

Those Xbox One numbers seem off to me. There's a 104k discrepancy. China no doubt sold a respectable amount of units, but not THAT many.

EDIT: Actually, is this the launch week for china? That could explain it, I thought it was week 2.

Should we expect to see PS4 and to a far lesser extent Xbox One and Wii U adjusted up? Destiny was adjusted down.

If it is then clearly the 'rumoured' 100k sales was proof enough ...

edit: It seems it launched in other territories too.

I'm glad shadow of mordor has a strong first week, I haven't bought my copy yet but I will before years end.

I think adding the 100k now and not adding any new sales from China weekly until there's some actual tracking available would be best. This way they can nip the initial Chinese sales in the bud until fresh new data is available and without having to worry about over/under tracking subsequent week sales

Good number from XBO this week, just not enough to pip PS4. Only 1 week left where it has a chance IMO

Are we behind in SW/HW?

For some.  VGChartz just published an article saying forza sold 176,995  in the US but we already know it was only 120k combined.  So no they have not adjusted software.  Also all systems including Vita were undertracked but they have not been adjusted.
