Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 Exclusive Bloodborne Graphics "Off The Charts," Sony Exec Says

"It just looks gorgeous," Scott Rohde says.

The visual presentation for upcoming PlayStation 4exclusive Bloodborne is "off the charts," according to PlayStation executive Scott Rohde. He is the software product development head for Sony Worldwide Studios America. Speaking during latestPlayStation Blogcast, Rohde said what he enjoys so much about Bloodborne's visuals is the way the game feels "wet."

"The way it looks; just off the charts to me," Rohde said about Bloodborne. "It has, I've said this before ... there's a certain, like, wetness to that game. I don't know what other word to use. It just feels like everything is dripping and oozing with whatever it is--it's water, it's blood, it's whatever it is; and it just looks gorgeous."

According to a Famitsu report from June, the final version of Bloodborne is aiming to run at 1080p/30fps.

Bloodborne is the latest game developed by From Software, the creators of the Demon's Souls andDark Souls role-playing game franchises. The game launches on February 6, 2015 in North America, and you'll also be able to buy a special edition version of the game on that date.

It is possible, too, that Bloodborne will be one of the games Sony talks about during December's PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas. The company teased that attendees will get a glimpse at Sony's 2015 software lineup, which would include Bloodborne.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Hope it sells well in Japan.

Meh, I would expect a Sony rep to say that. I don't listen to 3rd party execs when they blow sunshine up my ass about their games, won't do it with Sony either.

That having been said, what I've actually seen with my own eyes looks badass.

Graphics importance is way overrated...

"Off The Charts"

Bloodborne does have a fantastic art direction, but it's hardly a graphical showcase on the level of many other titles. On a side note, the title needs editing. He doesn't actually say "Off The Charts" in reference to graphics, just how it looks in general. Those are two difference things (even if they are directly related).

The quality of graphics is important. it is a good thing to have great graphics, they assist to make the game impressive. Not a single thing negative about having high quality graphics. Yet, you managed to complain somehow..

Indeed, people confuse graphics whoring with simply having a standard of improvement generation over generation.  And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that standard, given the hardware improvement Generation over Generation.  That doesn't mean every game out there has to be bleeding edge, there are plenty of examples of gen 7 titles that weren't graphical powerhouses, but absolutely amazing.  But, those who are trying to raise the bar, should be expected to raise said bar.

Bloodborne is too scary for me to consider it anything but a terrible game.

Move along. Nothing to see here
