Forums - Gaming Discussion - This is the Dark(est) Age of gaming

The last amazing game for me was Batman Arkham Asylum (2009). Fallout New Vegas (2010) and Enslaved (2010) were great too. Sleeping Dogs (2012) was the last new big game I enjoyed. It is official - the Dark Age started in 2013 and will continue for at least 7 years, even Vanga predicted this. You can call it the Age of Rehashed Games if you want, I allow it.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

So because you don't like antying, that means it's "officially" the dark age of gaming?

Maybe you just game way too much and due to that have become difficult to please.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

On the other side of the globe.....Nintendo Land Ip's and sequals are flourishing!!!

But there is a recession.

Though it's fun.

Nah, the darkest age of gaming was with the GameBoy Advance.

Like... literally couldn't see anything on that screen.

*ba dum chish*

But seriously, it is quite interesting when a good amount of the year's biggest games are remakes (TLoU, MCC, GTAV). Hopefully 2015 will deliver on more new content than ever (It's looking promising at least!).

Maybe for you.

I'm loving it

This is definitely the most boring start but its way to soon to judge the whole gen ... for obvious reasons. Last gen currently is the worst gen.

Hardly, 2015 looks awesome.

Even if it weren't, it would be hard to top the blandness of the SNES period where it seemed like every new game was either a platformer or a beat 'em up.

ITT:

Wait what? It started in 2013? The year when we got games such as TLOU, GTAV and Bioshock Infinite? 2013 was an amazing year.
