Seems to be a distinct lack of coverage of this in Japanese news media.

Here we confirm that Atelier Shallie is coming in 2015.

Atelier Shallie ~Alchemists of the Dusk Sea~ is coming in 2015 across Europe. More details to come, stay tuned.

Because... you think these games will use the increased power of current gen consoles?

It released in Japan 3 months ago when XB1 wasn't released; PS4 was in a slump and WiiU was running on Mario Kart fumes.  PS3 was the best choice (especially since it's the last part in a trilogy that all released on PS3).

It'll come to Vita in 2016, probably, if you want a current gen version.

That's nice. So far the acquisition of Gust by Koei-Tecmo hasn't been disappointing. I hope it continues to be so on the PS4.

I refuse to touch my PS3 anymore. There is virtually no reason to not just port these games to PS4. It's not like it's hard to port.

 I don't know why you refuse to play at your ps3, you can sell it then if you don't want to play it anymore.

This game is on ps3 because most of the userbase is still on ps3, we will need to wait the next one to begin a new story on ps4.
