sony ps4 shipments end of june: 10.2m
sony ps4 sold trough consumer 12th august: 10m
sony ps4 shipments end of september: 13.5m
~1 1/2 month of sales sitting on shelfs, at distributors and in transit is totally fine
here is no undertracking by a lot anymore. so yes 1.9m on shelfs (if u includ the last week of september tracking period) is not unlikely
if the ps4 is undertracked, it is 300k max. and that margin error is fine, too

1 - 2 weeks of sales at retailer shelfs
x weeks of sales at wholesaler and distributors
2 - 5 weeks to ship ur units form production to wholesaler and distributors, depending on region ofc (this are already sold units to wholesaler and distributors for sony/ms/nintendo)

Why would you include the last week of that tracking period? Shipments only go up to Sept 30 which is closer to Sept 28 than Oct 5...

No, I am not dumb, please do not assume I am. You say "as of this moment" but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about sales vs. shipped as of the end of September, which was almost 1.5 months ago. Retailers don't prepare for the holidays in July-Sept...
Who cares, I have both. There will always be room both and besides you can't play the highest game of the year on PS4 and never will able to, Bayonetta 2. Oh and if you combine 3DS and Wii U hardware sales Nintendo is still the gaming king.
