Ellie's definitely a better character, in terms of story and persona, I just preferred Ashley's integration into the gameplay.

I love resident evil 4 to death, but the story was pretty bleh. The gameplay on TLoU was great, gritty and brutal and the story is miles ahead anything RE has ever tried. The Last of Us takes my vote. RE4 was great while it was happening but TLoU stuck with far after i finished the game and i immediately went back to play it. The multiplayer was also refreshing.

As far as fights: Leon > Joel, Ellie > Ashley, Ada > Tess.

i hated RE4, the move from 3d on 2d environments, to just full 3d removed a lot of the charm, and made it overall a lot less interesting to play, im glad they went back to 3d on 2d for zero, as far as it goes for me, its as follows:

RE3 > TLOU > RE/REDC > RE:S > RE2 > RE:Z > RE:CV > RE:OutBreak > RE:TDC > RE:R > RE6 >RE4 > RE5 > RE:ORC

The rest I haven't yet played and probably never will.

RE4 held up better for me for multiple play throughs. But TLOU is pretty special. I'm going to say RE4.

RE4 is on my to play list. But I can't see it topping TLOU for me.

I'll go with TLOU, but I'll admit that RE4 is the better game "gameplay wise" for those prefer a less story oriented game.

Pretty sure a chinese super spy is better than the president's daughter and some survivors of a dead society.
