Regenerators scared me waaay more than the clickers. Their palsied walk, rasping breathing, slow but inexorable advance while you're in narrow spaces with nowhere to escape to, that bone chilling music. The clickers didn't have the same menace.

The whole setting in RE4 is more cartoonish compared to TLOU so the scares were never on the level of TLOU or games like Silent Hill for example. The clickers and the Bloaters as well were a presence to be reckoned with. That only got hightened by going to higher levels. Also RE4 had so much ammo you couldn't die as easily.

I'd disagree, the bloaters were pretty cartoonish and a bit too comical to be scary for me.

Ammo wasn't much use against regenerators in RE4 before you get the thermal scope, and even afterwards, the small/moving weak points, your slow rate of fire, and claustrophobic arenas meant they remained a threat. And then there's the Garradors, stalking you by the sound of your movements, who you had to get behind to damage.

He hasn't played the game it seems. It's a Cordycep. They are the fungus infecting everyone.

Oh. That makes more sense to me. I only know them by name. So basically, the Clickers...

The clickers were way scarier than anything from RE4 IMO. Well, neither game is scary but the clickers were cool so I pick them

I will say though, while neither were scary, TLOU was filled with more tension & atmosphere. This is my opinion of course.

Which were scarier? Ganado or Cordyceps?

The real scariness in RE4 are the Garradors and Regenerators. Nothing in TLOU approaches that level of terror.

Nothing shits me up like the approaching sound of a chainsaw.

Relative to their time of release i'd say they're about equal, but in the present TLOU is considerably better.

Yeah that too. The super chainsaw blokes on the waterworld level of Mercenaries just about gave me a heart attack more than once.

RE4 lacked the stealthy elements of TLOU which only helped highten the tension the player feels. That and the fact that the AI was much better, makes this a very easy win. Gamers universally accept this as well as reviews and sales have shown so far.

The Last of Us was a better game.

Hard to say. Leon and Ada are pretty much super heroes in RE4. Joel and Tess felt significantly weaker. Leon and Ada would also show up to the fight better equipped for it. Ellie would wreck Ashley, though.

I wouldn't call either one "scary" but I definitely had more tense moments in the Last of Us. Especially because it had more vicious enemies to deal with. Sometimes, RE4/5 felt like turn based RPGs. The enemies would run up, then stop and take STEPS BACK and attack you one at time. In TLOU I even jumped a few times and the game wasn't trying to scare me, I was just that into it.

This is the reason I slightly prefer TLOU; the stealth aspect creates some incredibly intense sections.

TLoU completely craps all over RE4 and this is coming from a hardcore RE fan.

Huh. People, reply to my questions of fights! Also, which was scarier for you, the Ganado or Coryceps?

I didn't answer that one because I don't know what a "Corycep" is even though I beat the game. I'll look it up and get back to you

I've played the game, that was just a typo.
