That's a lot of DLC for Smash.

2.8mil is sold, its already been proven many times. Trust me there are threads about it :)

so i would say 3.5m including digital as end of 4. october worldwide

there is no! way this game will sell 7m until end of 2014 on ps4 alone

Destiny seems undertracked in VGC... US is on spot... you can see the estimates here: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6763324 (it sold between 2.5-3.0 million all plataforms in US... 33% is PS4 + 300k from the bundles)... Europe looks a bit under but who knows.

It is selling over 200k on PS4 and increasing due holidays... I expect at least 2 million retail sales this end of the year for the PS4 version... it will be close to 7 million this year.

i just know ONE game form recent history. the last of us.

and that was the game with the biggest legs last gen ;)

edit: im wrong. even the last of us sold 2.5m in its first 4 weeks and just over 1m more in its following 12 weeks.

other games sell way less

I think you guys are both underestimating the selling power of the 3DS. Remember that 3DS owners beat PS4 owners by a 4:1 ratio, meaning it has greater odds of beating out Destiny. Also, Super Mario 3D Land has GREAT Legs, I believe it will clear 10mil copies this Holiday season. I feel Smash will even have better legs than SM3DL and will also benefit from the holiday season (since it's the only game like it in the market), while Destiny is a big ? to me, considering it will have CoD:AW and Halo:MCC to compete with for the Holidays (both better games than Destiny according to gamers and critics alike) and both being FPSers.

The real Wild Card is Smash for the Wii U. If it will live up to the hype then I really believe it will actually sell more than all of Destiny's incarnations, but that's a BIG IF. In the end I believe Smash will sell more than Destiny against it's 8th generation counterparts if that's a consolation prize.

I believe Mairo is bigger than Smash Bros... plus I really don't know how it will performance on 3DS because I don't have any other Smash Bros on handhelds to compare.

I believe Destiny will do 10 million on PS4 lifetime.

December it will receive the first expansion... so it will have another boost in sales... after that they will release more two expansions with 3/4 months difference... others 2 boost in sales to 2015... these expansaions will come with definitive retail releases (Full Game + Expansion) like others MMOs.

When you see Destiny you need to look to legs of games like World of Warcraf, Diablo III, etc... the model is based in constant updates.

It's understandable to believe that a Mario game would do better, just remember that Smash also has Mario in it, and Smash has out sold SM3DL in ITS FIRST 3 WEEKS than in 3D land first 6 WEEKS! Granted you can say this is including Digital Copies, but it's out selling it during a non formal pre-holiday release while  3D Land came out during the Holidays. It's all right here:

Smash will carry on through out the Holidays. And remember it will come out for Wii U too, boosting it even more. The threat that the 3DS can surpass PS4 Destiny is there, and it's more than possible.

You say that added content will be added onto Destiny, thing is WoW and Diablo have lots more worlds and levels to crawl ALREADY prior to release. Destiny plays like a REALLY Early MMO, meaning it's content is sort of limited and you have to pay extra here and there to get more. Whether people stay loyal to Destiny or jump off the train to old familiar favorites like Halo or CoD reminds to be seen, but you can't neglect that those 2 games will harm Destiny's sales, whether it has DLC or not...
