Destiny but it will only hurt Activision further considering the lukewarm reception it has had. Smash didn't have a $500 million budget so Destiny better sell more or Kotick's hanging himself.

Destiny will most likely sell more units, but Smash will rake in a bigger profit.

Yeah. Not really a competition. This holiday should give Destiny a nice boost out of reach.

Lol exactly, noone voting is giving an actual reason for why Smash will win. And the OP gives a flawed reason.

Neither did Destiny, something that has been discussed to death, so I'm curious as to how long people are gonna keep making this false claim.

Goes to show for the billionth time just how many Ninty fans are on VGC, despite some of them claiming that vgc is Sonyland. Polls always show the same. 

And I mean, I understand them thinking that Smash is/will be the better game, but in terms of sales? I'm curious what they're basing that on. Is it pre-orders or wishful thinking?

Destiny (PS4)= 8 million
Destiny (XO)= 5 million
Destiny (X360)= 3 million
Destiny (PS3)= 2 million
Destiny (PC, next year)= 500K (Only retail)

Smash Bros:
Super Smash Bros (3DS)= 10 million
Super Smash Bros (Wii U)= 7 million

Destiny: above 18 million
Smash: around 17 million

So, probabily Destiny...

Of course it is, but that doesn't change the fact that the 0.5 number that gets thrown around is misinformation which is a bad thing. There's nothing with admitting that you're wrong istead of saying "yes but".

Also, we don't know which game will make the most profit for its company considering how many dlc's Destiny will get,how much sony paid Activision for bundles and exclusive advertising, and how the success of the first Destiny can be it become a successful franchise. Smash is an established franchise so it would only make sense for the budget to be smaller. It would also make sense that the budget of Destiny 2 will be significantly smaller.
