It is something I have been noticing more and more of late.
PS4 was announced with several features way back that it still has yet to recieve, even after Sony reiterated them to be coming "soon". How is it we still do not have suspend and resume? A feature that Sony brought to the table and MS has seemingly stolen and implemented already.
This just makes me remember back on PS3 and 360. PS HOME was announced way before Xbox Avatars yet still got beaten to release. When HOME finally was released it was nothing of what it was originally stated to be. No being able to theatre room movies with friends over internet(understandably though due to possible law suits) or the simple interactive Trophy room.
PS Vita debuted without PS1 compatibility being functional. WTF? This should have been a day one feature, seeing as PSP had long since had this, the template was already there. Not to mention even still to this day you still cannot see every PS1 game available to the Vita ON THE VITA!!! Which is just crazy.
Vita also didn't get HULU until recently......when even the 3DS had it.
Now we have Playstation (Vita) TV which for some ungodly reason is not compatible with Netflix. In this day and age how do you even release a set top box device that can't use the most basic and popular of apps? If not on day this should have been a first week feature. To just leave this up in the wind with statements like "It is not available at this time" is unacceptable.
I don't know what Sony's testing process is exactly but it needs a drastic overhaul pronto. From the time you announce a feature, it should be ready to implement shortly after launch.
Greatness Awaits
