Lets hope the new cast keeps the show going each year! It reminds me of tales from the crept from hbo where ever episode had a new actor.

Woody and Matthew were both amazing and the show was incredibly tense with some very wity writing. Excellent casting all around, from the bad guys to the few good men. And loved the locations they chose, so much atmosphere in every shot.

Each year will be different actors and a different story but yes Woody and Matthew did amazing. IN fact i think Cohle has been the most interesting character ive seen since Tyler Durden. Matthew did an amazing job and the writing is just brilliant. I cant wait for season 2.

Is it confirmed to be Colin and Vaughn though? Both are good actors so i see no issue at all. It was originally rumored to be Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio if i remember right which would have been insane though that got dismissed a while ago

This is important to note. Matthew McConaughey was mostly the go-to talentless heartthrob romantic comedy lead before True Detective. Aside from the fact that Colin Farrel is already amazing, give Vince Vaughan a chance.

it was great ive even watched it a second time ..never did that except with star trek tng.

vaughn and farrel are hated and even I myself dont like them but they dont deserve that and I honestly think they will do a great job if the writing is good as the first season.

Vince Vaughn... I can't stand him and I've never seen a single movie starring him that I liked. Still haven't see True Detective though but I do have HBO so it's on my rather extensive "too watch" list.

I'm kinda skeptical about the season 2's casting... but we gotta remember that, until recently, Matthew McConaughey was considered a lame actor, who only did romantic comedies. So we'll see.

But out of the series I've watched this year, it's not my personal favorite. But that's because I've watched Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones this year. Also, Vikings. DAT Season 2 finale!
