PS4 have dominate the PS2 sales first 4 month, and after March, PS2 have starting to be above PS2 for all month.

But now, thanks Destiny and other games, PS4 back to dominate.

PS4 this NPD have sold 50% more than the PS2 (50 % MORE!!!!!)

PS4 sell around 540K, versus the 340K of PS2.

Even the lifetime sales are a favour of PS4:

PS4 in 10 month > 4,5 million (Nov 13-Sept 14)

PS2 in 11 month < 4,1 million (Oct 00 - Sep 01 )

 

Can PS4 be above PS2 for rest of year, and why no... even next year?

Fact: PS4 is a fucking succes.

All of this with absolutely with no games! (We all know this is far from the truth)
PS4 will continue to dominate throughout the whole generation. It is scary to think what might happen when the heavy hitters like: UC, GT, and GOW come out for the system along with popular PlayStation established franchises like MGS and Final Fantasy. The PS4 sales will only grow and so will PS 1st party franchises which is great. The Uncharted and God of War series deserve to sell 8+ million each game.

It probably won't have the longevity because PS2 sold 50m after PS3 launch. I just don't think PS5 will be bungled so badly and thus won't give the PS4 the legs it needs to surpass the monstrous PS2 number (sort of like how PS3's legs have been cut off so fast as opposed to PS2's long ones). It could be the fastest console or at least Sony console to hit 100m though!

PS2 start was quite slow, because ppl kept happily buying PS1 that still had a consistent release of new games while the PS2 was still blossoming. I don't think PS4 will outsell PS2, because PS2 was a beast in the RotW. But I think it can achieve some similar numbers at least in EU and US.



...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Hate to shit on your parade but so was the Wii, and launch aligned PS4 is behind the Wii. That doesn't mean PS4 doesn't have a chance to outsell the PS2.
