How many gamers have been giving out death threats recently?

Pretty much like Postal 1 with updated graphics. It´s nothing that wasn't done before, the only difference being that the Unreal Engine 4 allows for more realistic dynamics which allow for a more grisly game.

That said, it´s quite more disturbing than other games that require killing so I don´t see myself playing it.

Meh, sounds like violence for shock value. And I haven't watched the trailer but if it IS pretty realistically grisly then I question why I would want to desensitize myself by acting it out... For now when I do l kill helpless people in games it's because I can do it in weird funny ways or because it isn't realistic. I don't have fantasies of making it realistic. Maybe it's an interesting experience but I think it comes dangerously close to simple reproduction and condoning of violence.

My version of the dev's explanation for this game "I saw that people were trying to make games more inclusive and mature so I made a game where you fucking kill everything because you hate it because I wanted to go back to the days games were just entertainment."

by making something extremely controversial they garnered a lot of attention for their title, which in their position can only mean hugely increased sales, even if it ends up being banned in more than just germany and australia

We've been using violence in video games and killing people in them for decades. Let's not start pretending like one kind of violence is acceptable over others. To paraphrase Kylo Broflovski: Either all of it is wrong, or none of it is.
