People are assuming that one of the most sought after releases of the year was picked up free when they were given the opportunity to do so when buying a console they wanted, yes.  Just like the OP is assuming no one opted to get it free and every copy was sold based on his thread title.

And most of them were given away for FREE and were a total LOSS for MS. Pyrrhic "victory".

Could be bacause Xbox One controller is better for FPS games.
Could also be because Bungie/Halo fans are on Xbox.

This stat won't be the same for europe though.

The game is amazing and deserve these sales.

PS4 sold more due the bundle and Xbone sold good due the free copies... it is fine because the game is being loved by the community that is growing each day.

Yeah I was surprised too. Looks like all that PS advertising helped Destiny sell well on Xbox too.
