Forums - Sales Discussion - Since Launch PS4 Accumulated A 1M Lead On XB1 In Its Home Territory

PS4 has a 1M lead on XB1 in US

congratz it will keep growing 312 89.91%

meh Xb1 will shrink that during the holidays 35 10.09%

Total:347

REALLY?!!!!

Just 1m by all this time? I'm disappointed.

I wonder how big the gap will be at the of 2015. The MCC and Halo 5 should certainly help X1 but PS4 is so strong and is getting big games in 2015.

I wouldn't say it was a bloodbath last gen. I mean the PS3 launched a year later than the Xbox 360 and pretty much gained every year. It just looked like Xbox was winning because it took so long for Sony to catch up.

360 in NA 47M
PS3 in NA 27M
PS brand lost over 55% of its market share in the 7th generation.

Yes, its was a bloodbath. And this thread refers to the same territory. The PS3 never caught up to the 360 in NA.

Oh. Thanks for clearing that up!

Its not that ''remarkable'' when two multiplatform games did all the work for Sony...

Never seen so much MS downplay/hate and wankfesting for the PS4, VGC may as well be a Sony fanboys website, the place to go where every other console has is bad news while literally everything is good news for Sony.

Lord what a comment. How was the console supposed to sell otherwise? On air? Get over yourself.

O.o No, I think it's actually more remarkable, especially when you consider more new console owners apparently preferred to pay 450 dollars to play Destiny on PS4 at launch instead of paying only 400 to play the exact same game on Xbox One at launch, (what with the free game deal.) At this point, the only reason one can say that the Xbox One doesn't rely on multiplatform titles to boost sales, is that, well, multiplatform titles don't really seem to boost their sales as much, because people seem to prefer getting a PS4 for it. Even when Microsoft is literally giving the game away for free. O_O

Besides, considering the only exclusive that's really boosted the Xbox One sales is Titanfall, and even that couldn't boost its sales higher than the PS4 got boosted by Infamous Second Son, I guess neither console is really selling any better thanks to exclusives than the other?

Not insurmountable. My guess is that X1 will rule the roost in the U.S. in due time.

I mean why though?

The XB1 has virtually nothing in its favor in the US right now.

Yes. But that's right now. Who knows that the future holds. I don't really foresee X1 cathing PS4 worldwide but I see it passing PS4 in the U.S. market. It'll take a few new Halos, Gears, etc. but it'll happen.

XB1 may have Halo and Gears, but PS4 has Uncharted, God Of War, Gran Turismo, better 3rd party multiplats and more variety of exclusives catering to fans of different genres.

Yes, but we're talking U.S. here. Shooter world... Halo Haven.
