I have to try really hard to write like a moron.
I am not only a brazilian living in Brazil, but I am also from a poor family...

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

My father is also from a poor family but he writes very well. He read many books when he was younger and my grandmother was able to send him to school despite the hardships.

I don't think poor means illiterate Wagner.

But I was kidding. I'm sure you write well in Portuguese.

Actually, you are right. I will read a little more texts in english.

I do have a bunch of books in English, I will read them.

We all know the internet is a great place to find words spelled in all kinds of funny ways.

To illustrate proper word usag e, spelling and grammar in english I would recommend adding "Wierd" Al Yankovik's music video called "Word Crimes" to the forum rules.

There's a space in the middle of "usage," "English" is not capitalized, and you misspelled "Weird" and "Vankovic." I find you guilty of treason against the Grammar Nazis and sentence you to 10-15 years hard labor as an editor for Merriam-Webster.

It was all intentional, I swaer!

Don't kill me, please! I beg of you.

Swear is misspelled. 2 years is added to the sentence.

I'd agree, but there are many non-native English speakers here and they deserve to be cut some slack.

[Two] years [are] added to the sentence.

I don't think it's a big deal. Unless it's part of your job or school work, why make it a big deal. But, old cell phone spelling is not ok, B4 2 c u ur nvm ect. Just saying.

A) Most people here are STEM type people. (Hence why they would be on a Video Game sales forum), and will naturally be better at math-based concepts than linguistics. Thus, grammar will not be perfect.
B) The users here are from all over the globe and may not have English as their primary language.

Honestly with those reasons and the fact that I make mistakes occasionally, I don't care when people don't get it perfectly. As long as I understand what they're trying to say.

The most important question though is, did you find Weird Al's video hilarious and do you think it would kick ass in a list of forum rules (as a joke or to point users to grammar/spelling tricks)?

As a joke, sure. I love Weird Al and his contributions to comedy music, and I think people can benefit from it.

I would have to agree.

Considering the average poster's ability to properly express themselves grammatically on this site, this should of been added to the forum rules ages ago. These days you can barely get past a single post that doesn't feature a glaring grammatical mistake, and it's only going to get worse until someone starts taking this issue seriously.
