Just imagine Xbox ONE winning the gen.

Oh happy days!

I condone that they go insane with their commitment to exclusives as long as it does indeed mean building their own franchises and not just as their parent company for more money so they can buy whatever is popular already and dissapoint the fans of a franchise that was on other platforms. All that does is make me care less for a franchise that i liked before. There is no way i could ever support this practice method by going out and buying an xb1 to get tomb raider. I dont want this to be encouraged and sadly i must say that i hope tomb raider sells miserably. It is the only way to prevent this from happening again. I know xb1 owners propably couldnt care less about ps4 owners wishes but imagine if you suddenly couldnt play batman this year or something. So i guess im pathetically asking who ever reads this not to buy it or at the very least get a used copy. :(

wow this threads turned to shit fast. Needs some moderation ASAP.

MS has delivered with the exclusives thus far this gen. I am happy with the exclusives I have played this year and things look to be the exact same next year.

3rd and 2nd parties have delivered exclusives to xb1 not microsoft ;)

and im scared if microsoft continues on that path. It will effect the industry too negatively.

Audience > than outright cash and that's what third parties who sided with microsoft felt and shall realize soon enough. Dead Rising 3 and Titanfall are victim 1 and 2.

Soon sunset overdrive and tomb raider will be victims 3 and 4.

And don't give me the "it was enough" bullshit claim.

Nothing is ever "enough" for 3rd party publishers.

There is absolutely no difference whatsoever. Microsoft paid the bills, the games wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Microsoft.

Plus, Forza Horizon 2 is first party, and its the best damn racing game released in years.

Good strategy, copy Nintendo.
We all see how it's working for them.

I am very scared that this will just turn into "buying 3rd party exclusives" and "paying 3rd party to avoid PS4".

This!  Right now Microsoft exclusive and Microsoft sponsored means less "Microsoft will make more killer exclusives for it's consoles" as much as "Microsoft will pay to keep games off PS4 or limit them so they don't look better than on XB1".

I hope the difference is understood.  Paying to make more games is going to bring more games for XB1 owners to enjoy.  Paying to limit games on PS4 doesn't add something for XB1 owners to enjoy.

My 8th gen collection

dead rising, titanfall, sunset, and tomb raider would all exist one way or another.

These publishers just wanted the easy route out with ms footing their bills for exclusivity.

These deals were also prob made when xbox was more popular as well. Now that the tables have turned it's a whole different story now for these publishers.

When Sony was market leader developers worked much harder and made much better games. Now after xbox gained a ton of marketshare and became market leader in the u.s. quality has faded and publishers and microsoft are rehashing the same franchise over and over. I DON'T want xbox to become as popular as the 360 EVER again!!!!

Third party delivered for Microsoft and Sony made it easy  by making the mistake of turning down Sunset Overdrive, Titanfall and other games. Time has revealed that Microsofts launch wasnt as strong as people thought from an internal perspective, but really from an outside perspective. Dead Rising and Ryse will be on PC and Ryse will probably hit the PS4 if Sony allows for it. Killer Instinct itself was and still is being developed by third party (two third party teams to be exact) Killer Instinct is about to get pretty technical since Iron Galaxy worked on Street FIghter 3: Third Strike online. Microsoft (Phil Spencer to be exact) knows how to pick the thats really all it is. What they did with Tomb Raider was dirty and they even admitted that they reason for it was because they could not develop a game on par with Uncharted. This is why I am growing to like Phil Spencer, because even he admits where MS lacks despite all they've attained over time.

This i agree with 100%. Its the reason why I play my Xbox One more at the moment. I also propose that they invest in making their first party development better with more star employees.
