Regarding release date of the update, it is heavily hinted that it will be here before this year's big releases. It says so in the comments.

the only thing PSTV needs, that it doesn't have is, PS2 games. PSP,1 and Vita are all good, but PS2 games are what we need.

This should be their sites tag line.

So no DLNA streaming support?

Doesn't look like it yet, but one can only assume that more updates will follow.  I am just glad they got some momentum with their updates.  

Yeah I'm glad the updates are coming. However, it's a little annoying that the PS4 can't do what my PS3 has been doing for years.

In a perfect world, yeah, it would've launched with all the multimedia capabilities of the PS3, and so on.  But, if I had to choose, I'd much rather their focus be on games pre-launch, and then add stuff in after the fact.  Just wish they would've prioritized things (as far as which updates to do first) a bit better.
