Forums - Sony Discussion - Polygon lowers DriveClub review score due to ongoing server problems

Usually polygon is shit, but I have to agree that this doesn't have to be happening! Every online game should have a server stress test.

Fair enough.

How much did Polygon drop their GTAV score when Rockstar cut off online for the first two weeks, and then left it buggy as all hell for the first week it was up?  How about BAttlefield 4, a game even more dependent on online than DC, whos online infrastructure had problems for six whole months before EA fixed it, despite the fact they actually tried to deny there were any problems to be fixed for the first few months?

Anybody?

Editor's note: While Grand Theft Auto Online remains in a state of only partial functionality and is difficult to recommend at this time, this does not affect the single-player content of Grand Theft Auto 5. As such, our overall recommendation of Grand Theft Auto 5 remains unchanged.

However, they really let it rip on BF4 (from 7,5 to 4): http://www.polygon.com/2013/10/29/5040656/battlefield-4-review

so will they raise it back up when issues are fixed? will they also raise it when weather and photo mode release? no they wont.

I bet they don't raise the score for all the games that get constant updates over time improving the experience.

Hmm, pie.

woohoo, 2x the hits for one review, way to milk that revenue.

Disregarding Driveclub for a moment, I really wish that more review outlets would take the time to update their reviews when needed. These days games can change so much after release, in some cases more than others, it's really only fair.

Given how, for example, Forza 5 released and what the game is now, I say yes, they should adjust their reviews!

Are they making refunds on this debacle yet?

not likely, it took MS long enough to own up to the red ring.  I doubt this can last long enough to warrent similar actions, though they should release a hell of a lot of free "we are sorry" downloadables.  Plus its not as if gamers are not used to broken games thanks a lot Ea for conditioning the industry.
