At any rate, Sony isn't really in the best position to be gambling on a new Playstation portable device, particularly because the general failure of the Vita is still fresh on the minds of those who bothered to buy one.

Speaking for myself personally as someone who really likes the Vita even though I've stopped using it regularly, Sony would have to come up with something pretty compelling to get me to buy another Playstation handheld device.

After they dropped the Vita so callously, I imagine it will be hard to convince many Vita owners to jump on board with the next one.

Kind of like Sega abandoning the Saturn made people reluctant to get on board with the Dreamcast.

It will be called xperia something.
